Keep in mind that a 1962 Ford Country Squire station wagon (the one the Baxters drove this season) would list, with 390 V-8, Cruise-O-Matic, full power, air, radio, etc., for $3500...a comparable 2011 Ford Flex would list for $35,000!
@bongomanfromdalou That an increase of 10 times, yet average wages haven't increased 10 times. Of course given a choice I'd rather have the '62 Wagon.
This was such a fun show. I remember it well having watched it while growing up in the early 1960's. It was on at 9:30 Thursday evenings on NBC. The golden area of television.
Wow! Sure didn't expect to find THIS on YouTube! This was one of my favorite shows as a kid, and after nearly 50 years, I actually REMEMBERED this episode! Thanks so much for sharing!
What a wonderful show this was. The last time I saw it was when it originally aired. But 40+ years later, thanks to Sell, and Ioffer, (.com), I have been watching them all over again.
Nothing better then this old shows. Quality T.V. that you can not get today.

After watching this episode about a dozen times, I went out and bought some pink paper and orange ribbon. I just had to do it.
I really love this episode.

Mr. Baxter is sexually harassing Hazel by insisting on a kiss. She could have sued.

Do you mean Meredith Baxter?

Times certainly HAVE changed. $20 for one whole present ofMother of Pearl dresser set was considered extravagant spending back then!
Today such a dresser set antique from 48 years ago would get over $100 on Ebay!
