@coi10 hoi.. i used dns3500 2jears for mobile party's+ddm4000 mixer end this year i use dns3700's end must say denon is =reliable,good ,durable,pushing all nite end no problem's.. denon is ahead of pioneer.i have cdj's 900 BUT they are standing now for sale as i love to work those "digital turntables"=denon's... end jess two for 1600e.. worth every penny.. end yess when new denon comes out i will buy again...cheers..

@DJsonnyANTWERPEN I actually really like my Denon now, it still suffers with a little cue slip but I work with it. Had a play with some Pioneers recently and much prefer the scratch pad on the Denon. Given the minimum difference in functionality between this and pioneer the Denon is the much better price by far. I wish they would produce an updated version of this dual deck, I would certainly buy it.
@bassl1ne hallo, i think you should try dns3700 ... you can beat the usb feature of precize 000,0bpm so acurate that makes mixing much more acurate end faster then ever...you can mix without headphones just on feel.. wery sirioes decks... i onderstend that 5500 have dubbel output but 3700 are like "porsche" of cdj's.
@kflynt2006 WAS the industry standard.. watch litle bit better video's of dj's end will see them use laptop's with time code cd's.. oor controllers.. cd era is going to die...mp3 winns.. sad but true...i use denons3700 with usb's end must admit that they sound great on those mp3 song's.. when i read denon techincal information of denon i found they use burr-borrows op ams in audio path end these are use only for high end equipant for special sound.. i think future is timecode...cheers

were u high when u wrote that?? denon hasnt disconnected that, they have won the award for best media player of the year! and its still on there site and nothing on there forums says anything about discontinuation.
The HS5500 will play direct from storage devices such as HDDs and flash drives, an internal HDD (optional) or CD tray (optional).
It is also a MIDI controller, which will control any DJ software pretty much.
You choose whether you want the CD draw or a hard disk drive. It's 2 X Virtual Decks in one, and allows a Keyboard to be hooked up for faster 'string' searching.

Few days ago Denon DJ published new firmware - number 1300 for Denon DN-HS5500! I already have this update installed on my DN-HS5500 and I'm glad, because it fixes whole bunch of glitchs!

I bought an HS 5500 recently too...I noticed that you are using a Korg 4 Channel mixer with effects...how do you like this mixer? I am torn between either getting the one you have...Korg Zero 4...Denon 1500...or go a more expensive route? What do you suggest for a mixer with this Denon unit?
Hi, I was bought this Denon mixer because it has a very nice design, nice feel and on top of this got a kaos padd inside :)... So, its a nice mixer to have. There is also a 2 channel version.
Don't know if you ever used the dn-s3500 but it would slip or skip the music. A problem that affected a lot of Dn-s3500.
Are you playing music from the usb cd or HD?
Have you tested it with dj software?
Any delay accessing the music?
Are all the button midi assignable?
I'm afraid to buy another Denon due to the fact that beat matching was difficult with the Dn-s3500. I planning on waiting for one year and researching the new decks before making another Denon purchase.
Hey, food! Can you give any feedback on the behavior of the pitch fader when using the two layers? If you have layer 1 at, let's say, +2% and then switch to layer 2, setting it to +1%, and then return to layer 1, how does the deck handle takeover? Does the unit disable the pitch on layer 1 until it is positioned back at -2%? Does it just disable it entirely? I am getting one of these in a few weeks, but I'd like to know if I can really get by with 1 or if I need to get 2 to really mix proghouse?
It's perfect! When you switch between layer control, you don't start controlling the pitch fader for the layer until you HIT the current pitch setting for that deck. The only thing that would work better than this would be the pitch fader mechanically moving when you swapped layers =p
What slipmats are you using? Because with mine I can hardly execute a backspin. I've got the impression that the plastic is pushing to hard to the platter even without using the screws.
Hi, I know what you mean. I solved it by removing the 2 bolds that hold the slipmat tight to the platter. When the bolds a removed you can perform a very flexible spin. My slipman is a standard 7" record by the way.

Cue slip fixed with latest update. As well as several other reported glitches. Finally denon came good. :)

Yes you can,
Just press the "MIDI" Button on the HS5500, and click "Activate" on the corresponding icon in the Virtual DJ Configuration menu.
ASIO drivers for Denon may need to be installed, easily downloaded Online.

Lots of questions :).. I play from USB and I can anwser simply by saying that I dont have any problems.
I dont use the MIDI option.. so I cant anwser that question.
