  • the hook is just a easier way of doing what your doing.

  • I thought you'd like to know that your video is being posted and used on a site in a negative way.

  • @RiverGrad07 I definitely do want to know this. Which site might that'd be? Not "dreadlockssite" is it? Thanks for the info, bro.

  • @hondapunx Yes it is.

  • ur dreads would look better if you did it with the crochet hook... it makes the dreads look as good as new...it doesnt let the dreads look loose and messy...if you dont put the loose hair back in the dreads...your dreads are going to look dirty even if they are not.

  • do u do this offten?

  • @guitarsalert Not as often as I should. I've gotten increasingly lazy with my dreads, but maybe once every couple of months, yes. Definitely moreso after showers.

  • how often should i wash my hair if i just started?

  • yo not to sound negative or nothin but your hair must grow fairly slow, im comparing this video to your latest one and it doesnt seem like you got that much length, our dreads were the same length when you made this video and now mine are past my chest,do you trim yours?

  • Hmmm... are yours the same age as mine? I'm only at 11 months right now (which I still haven't made a video for.)

I haven't really trimmed my dreads. I used to with my first set. I feel like they're growing at an alright pace though. Or, at least, they are FINALLY longer now. How long have you had yours?

  • Dreads are filthy, long hair is for insecure women. Haven't you people seen Shoot 'em up?

  • @nilbud yeah i seen it, that movie sucked ass.

  • No it didn't. Now get back to playing with your hair.

  • yessir

  • The video just ends in the middle of a sentence, reminds me of that Family Guy episode. Lol

  • I know exactly which episode you're talking about. Haha. I love Family Guy.

  • Yeah, I kinda forgot what episode it was, you remember? I could pop in the DVD right now.

  • I'm wanting to get dreads. Is there a hair type that getting dreads works better for? I've wanted dreads for so long and I'm researching dreads before I get them.

  • Researching them is definitely a good call. :) I hear my videos are helpful, so hopefully they can give you some insight.

And nope. :) There is no speicificly great hair for dreads. The thicker hair is, the better, but it literally does not matter.

  • like after i get out of the shower i do not dreadball i just backcomb the root and handtwist them and it goes away im putting my dreads back in next week :)

  • Ooh, yes. Ican see that working very well, too. :)

And grats! I am very excited for you and getting your dreads back! Keep me posted on how they're doing and how fat they are! :D

  • yo , its me again one last question, how often do you washing your hair?, How often do you recomand me doin it from the start?

  • Right after getting dreads, I would reccomend waiting up to a week or so before you wash the for the first time.

After that, a couple times a week is usually just fine. Just give them time to dry out first.

  • well i got straight hair and started to dread the other day i didnt use wax, i back combed and then used the crochet hook, went to sleep and they were all messed up looked frizzy and a lot of loose hair gonna wait and get them done by someone who knows what their doing.. nice dreads though

  • I really do hate sleeping sometimes just for this reasy. My instinct is to say "fix them and fix them until they stay!" But that can be tough. I'll agree that getting some help might now be a bad idea. I wish you luck, :)

  • would the brick laying method be good for straight hair or do you recomend frizzy?

  • I think that it would work out just fine. I cannot think of why it wouldn't.

  • on average how long does hair have to be to start dreading, i heard 3 inches could you let me know

  • I say around shoulder-length. :)

  • hey i just had a question man, did you use wax to start your dreads? or just backcomb

  • I used wax like... once or twice right after I started them. And that was it.

  • Just FYI, Dreadballing isn't the greatest advice. If you keep your locks for a few years, you'll see the "Dreadballs" don't integrate with the lock and end up sticking out. Try washing with plain baking soda and water. A few tablespoons of baking soda mixed in a big glass of water, dump on your head, and rinse with diluted apple cider vinegar. I've used the DHHQ crap before and honestly its a huge waste of money and counterproductive to locking.

  • I'll agree that dreadballs are sometimes an issue.. But I really don't want to put that in my hair,.

  • what do you wash with?

  • Ah, good question. I'll try to include that in my next video, too. It's "DreadHeadHQ Shampoo". If you google that, you'll find it.

It's pretty great stuff, in my opinion. It'll actually help tighten up your dreads, which blows my mind every time. :)

  • ive been to dhhq to order some dread shampoo. it worked fine with taking out the moisture but did leave my hair stiff. i just wash my dreads with normal shampoo. no conditioner. just make sure your hair is dry when it is dry; no pun. it will get heavy but make sure that it is clean

  • thanks man i appreciate you writing back im going to get dreads soon and i was just wondering what you washed with. Thanks Tho

  • Of course, of course. :)

  • sweet man ive been wondering exactly how you do the dreadball method...but yea wat u were saying bout the dreads underneath...im in my second month and im finding that they are locking up much much better than the ones on top..idk if its cause i don't do as much work on them or wat but yea...your dreads are lookn AWESOME!!!! keep postn vids!

  • Haha. Thanks a ton, man. :) I'm getting more and more lazy with them as time goes on. Which.. eh.. I need to cut that out.. but it happens. And dreadballing will take care of it. :) Thanks, man. Haha.

  • i use the crochet hook method and it really isnt bad at all. this method is mainly good for getting loose hair at the root, the crochet hook method gets the loose hair in the dread at any part of the dreads

  • Nice. I was assuming that it would work out pretty well. I just happen to fail at it and this has worked for me. :) I'm glad that you got the hang of that crochet hook, though. There's no way that I could. Haha.

  • hmm so you just shove it in there eh? it doesn't pull your roots all apart?

Mines so messy lol I just stopped doing that and resorted to tearing them apart when they congo :P

  • Nope. The dreadballs don't interfere with the roots at all, or the rest of the dread. It just eventually becomes one and grows right in. :)

  • yea but you don't make a big mess/hole when you shove it in there with you finger?

  • Depending on how weak the dread is, this can sometimes be a problem, but for the most part, I can just massage the spot enough/palm roll and the hole will disappear surprisingly fast. Just my personal experience. :)

  • well i'll have to try that then cause the crochet hook is alright but can kind of be a pain in the ass.

  • Just watching people trying to use it looked like a pain in the ass to me, too! Haha. I agree 100%. Like I said, the dreadball may want to pop out for a couple of days, but after a little bit, the dreadball and the hole would disappear for me. Hope it works for you too, man. G'lcuk and thanks for the convo. :) I've been bored tonight! Haha.
