I spent the next day, June 21, 2010 just watching the 11 minute version of this video that "Major" Dan Miller took of this rare phenomena in Billings, Montana. I was doing just that, WATCHING. From the comfort of my home I was just watching. To all you saying this was "fake", shame on you. "Major" Dan Miller risked his life (he's a true media professional!); means a lot to me. Yes, Montanans are brave; don't know any other way. Thanks for sharing a 2nd Billings' twister since 1958!!!

Calling these drivers "Brave Montanans" is ludicrous. I'm a hard-core midwestern storm chaser for 20 plus years. What you are seeing here are people that don't have much experience with tornadoes at all, and don't realize how these things can kill you in a horrible way. Like maybe having a 2x4 driven thru your body? To the uninitiated, they think this debris is just papers, but it's actually roofs and telephone poles, etc. Foolish as hell....NOT BRAVE.

I must admit the traffic just whizzing by as if it's a beautiful summer day mystifies me.,  In Chicago the sirens went off twice on Wednesday afternoon and even the commuter trains were halted. Damage in various neighborhoods was tremendous and two expressways were closed but no deaths. Here we take our tornado warnings seriously.

What has terrain flatness to do with tornadoes? AFAIK, what causes them are streams of air converging into regions of lower atmospheric pressure, which makes the air column spiral due to the Coriolis effect.

@ThisIsXTC Almost all of it is insulation from the Metra.. Me and my family drove out after it to see what had happened, and you could find big huge chunks of the walls and ceiling of the building miles away from the actual site of the tornado.

Terrific footage! It's refreshing to watch footage without hearing or seeing a bunch of fanatical storm chasers ranting and jerking the camera around. This camera person probably captured more valuable footage than an entire team of chasers during several seasons!
