@msscott73 Pidgeon Wing is almost the same as Murray Wilson's Two Step Side Step - wrtten just after this was on TV - Murray was the father of the Beach Boys
Television audiences have changed, our social values have 60-years of television insanity that trained the American public; what television put on was what the audience would tolerate, and then television pushed the edges to be edgy in any drama. Annette is the first, she was so on the social edge; it turned into beach blanket bingo at the bikini movies, the young elite going for beach fun--even that hot rod was new, the prior generation still used horse and buggy.
I really had a crush on Mike..great to see these after all these years...the girl who plays Jet was on the old Superman TV series as the little blind girl who says to Superman "Are you sure your Superman? You sound just like Clark Kent"..
@jensmom604 But look at how active they are. They are dancing, playing tennis and basket ball. There were no Video Games. Besides, they are also eating real food, not Mickey D's or "Junk-in-the-Box." And while they do eat hamburgers, and probably went to Drive-ins, their metabolism could handle it because they were active. This was the case with most teens then.
@jensmom604 You forget; they walked almost everywhere. Nowadays, everyone drives everywhere, from the school that's a 30 minute walk away to the mall that's a 10 minute walk away to the neighbor who's a hop, skip, and a jump away.

They are not obese because back then people actually walked and ran and played sports instead of sitting on the couch playing video games :)

It's a wonder they weren't all obese, the way they consumed malts, banana splits, and sundaes!
