1. It is very dark. (Zork - 70s) 2. You have died of dysentery (The Oregon Trail, 80s). 3. Roll initiative (D&D, 70s/80s) 4. Shots do not hurt other players... yet (Gauntlet, 1985). 4. Enchantment? Enchantment! (Dragon Age, 2009), 5. ? 6. ? 7. Our princess is in another castle! (Super Mario Bros 2, 1988).
@evilwillhunting 5 is Magic the gathering. 6 is the Super Mario one. 7 is from the D&D podcasts Wil did with the Penny Arcade and PvPonline crew last year. 8 is from his guest spot on The BIg Bang Theory, also last year.
I was 10 people away from getting inside when they shut the doors. This is a sad compromise, but it's still better than nothing. Thanks for doing this!
You rock, I was really sad that I had to miss PAX east and even more distraught when I found out Wil would be doing another Keynote. 2007 was my second PAX and his keynote defined the idea of PAX for me thoroughly, seeing him do another was awesome.
Not a problem at all. Lines like these became common in 2007, and they've only grown larger. I'm hoping the administration will come up with some clever way to address this problem in the upcoming years (distributed video through the convention for Main Theater events?), but until then this felt like the best way to give everyone access.
I do want to thank the Enforcers for allowing me to bring the camera, and for Wil for allowing everyone to record him.
I was hoping that someone did this, and you'll prove to be the hero of those who couldn't be there. I'm sure i'll end up watching the others tomorrow at some point. :) Stop on by Classic Console tomorrow. I'll be there from 3-close. :D
@Doombah Thanks for the thought, but I've already had to depart PAX for various reasons; perhaps at PAX Prime. In the mean time, you could chat up Fixer re: Shadowrun, if you're looking for conversation while on duty. 3-close is one of the longest shifts I've heard.
I want to thank you, because I was working in the Classic Console room during this, so sadly I couldn't see it. However, Wil did come to my room to play some Atari today, so that made my day. :D
@Doombah The comment is appreciated. I have a couple friends in the Enforcers, and a couple more friends who couldn't attend at all. This was my poor attempt at sharing the magic a little.
YouTube is being a little slow processing all the videos, but they've been uploaded for over an hour, so expect them to be fully available soon.
I will never be able to go to a PAX let alone see this guy be this amazing. Thank you for posting all of this!!!!

So glad you posted this. Not getting into Keynote was one of the biggest dissapointments of PAX (not that they are many.)

For BYOC, all you have to do is bolt across the hall when the expo opens for first in balcony seating.

Thanks so much! We got there in time only to be greeted with long lines that turned into closed doors!

@Strawberria People line up hours before just to get in to see him, So when you want to see Will you have to ready to sit in a line. lol
