  • I dont like burning books but ill take that over burning people any day.

  • Agreed.

  • How did they fail? The Bush white house expanded the size of government larger and faster than any other time in history. They completely did away with all privacy in telecommunications. They succeeded in making our government our own enemy. They lured our military to fight on their terms in their region, which has never been conquered in all of human history. They have financially bled us dry, largely leading to our market collapse. They completed their objectives near universally.

  • That was not their goal. Their goal was the cause Western civilization to become unstable and ultimately fall to an Islamic theocracy. But the risk of that is still near zero.

  • @DeltaAtheism oh, Western civilization *has* become unstable. the US randomly started wars and removed or assailed civil liberties. the US divided the world into the "willing" and the "others". the impact of this persists globally.

  • Not in the way they intended. There is still almost no risk of Islamic theocracy, and not much increased risk of Christian theocracy.

  • @bamboo4tameshigiri Actually Alexander the great kicked their arses they still tell stories about him as though he were Cesar Sozhee But I do think we are living in dangerous times. The pope has just poped over to the UK making speaches about a new agresive atheism. I find it worrying that exercising the same rights as beleivers, ie. professing your beleifs openly as an atheist is being characterised by the invisible man worshipers as extreem or agresive.

  • lol first?
