  • great engine, first use of a gas VNT but It's not much match for a STI or EVO (other than being MUCH cheaper). It's great in my Lebaron.

    no such thing as 'launches to hard'. The problem that I guess you are referring to is that the AWL with a turbo car hooks up so quick that the engine RPMs fall and you loose boost. Much better of a problem to have then "Wrong wheel drive". Plus, there are lots of things you can do to combat this problem. Let me know if you need some ideas.

  • Wow, I suggest you do some research about the Turbo Dodges... These are the true unknown pocket rockets of the 80's - early 90's They also had a stong bottomend from the factory. A gutted dodge shadow can weigh as less 2500 lbs. Don't forget about the omni glh too, they weigh even lighter. This is cheap, extremely easy to work on and fun racing. Next time, think before you post an ignorant comment. Btw, Carroll Shelby was involved w/ these cars...

    you don't need to gut it to get that low of a weight, I think the Daytona CS was 2600lbs.

  • An untouched p-body from the factory (shadow, sundance duster) weighs around 2800 lbs. A 2600 lb p-body is very realistic without cutting metal out, replacing windows w/ plexi, etc.

    There's no way a daytona cs weighs around 2600. Even though this particular daytona was lighter than the other daytonas. 2900lbs sounds more accurate to me.

  • that was from ALLPAR, seems reasonable considering mine weighed out at 2700 (mine is just an 86 Turbo z, the CS had a bunch of lightweight stuff) at the track, and their scales are good to 5 lbs.

  • shadow is tougher than M1 Tank! It will go through a swamp, it will hit a fence and still go...plus you can find an easy replacement parts in every junkyard for cheap.

  • This car, is friggin sick. I have a 1994 2.5 L 4 door dodge shadow. I love it. It's just the naturally asperiated one, but I love him. You have a friggin nice car there man. Hold on to it.
