  • To say the least, a separate reincarnation of Cliff burton :)

  • sounds like 'on a rainy night' by steffen schackinger

  • Didn't even know bass could be played so beautifuly

  • is this from an actual song of his

  • High tuning. EADGC or maybe ADGCF

  • @arifreeman Most definitely.. I like the sound of that.

I have essentially the exact same bass, the Brewer model looks and sounds like it has an aftermarket pre and that's about it; I'd love to know which one it is so I can get a similar sound. The B string is a little bit underwhelming on the Surveyor, maybe it would word better as an E

  • @VorpalBob he talks about the model and what changes he's made it to it on another one of these namm '12 videos

  • which part of the song sounds like never gonna give you up lol, been trying hard to listen

  • @willbassyeahsgindo The very first phrase.

  • @willbassyeahsgindo The first few seconds sound like Never Gonna Give You Up

  • Are you people stupid? Stop comparing Evan to Les Claypool. Les tries to be some kind of "enigma" on the Bass, if you TRY to be an enigma then you're as far away from being one as you can be. Evan uses far more advanced techniques than Les, and is far more melodic. Check out Evan's album "Alone", it's excellent.

  • @FunkinSteen IMHO.

  • awesome solo, loved it. never-the-less i cant help but feeling that i've just been rick-rolled

  • evan is the best

  • that was FUCKING amazing...

  • nice playing

  • ... Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down. Creative.

  • never heard a bass solo like this, amazing

  • @beijingMETAL Not a solo, its a song, he doesn't just write solo's, he writes full lengths songs only using a bass.

  • he still aint no les claypool

  • Yeh your so right,,this is actually music,lc sounds like a typewriter,a program,a robot,,not very musical

  • @EnveBeats i was implying that i like les claypool more also les does alot of musical things on bass to say he is mechanical is kinda accurate but only to a few songs \

southbound pachyderm american life are good examples of "musical" playing also les uses alot of slap instead of tapped bass so they are two different styles either way this guy is good les is also good but they are different styles

  • yeahh!!

  • Just amazing.

  • When i first heard it, I thought he was playing "Never Gonna Give You Up". i had convinced myself that i was rick-rolled =[
