  • what year is this?

  • very cool, half ton diesel pickups are few and far between and yours is one of the best looking ones i have ever seen

  • Your camera isn't really sure what to do with sunlight, is it?

  • there was one for sale on craigslist in washington state just like two days ago i think it was a good price too

  • that dash looked immaculate and the engine sounded beautiful

  • Nice! I love the sound! I have a 82 300SD diesel. Check out my videos.

  • Dude Diesels in Rangers are pretty rare. You ought to just keep it and put it in car shows. I like regular 4 cylinders really, 'cause it's American. Diesels came from Japan.

  • in 82 it was a 2.2l Perkins which is britsh the 83 was a 2.3l mitsu.

  • Japanese Diesel engines are AWESOME!

  • @83RebelRanger theres several of the perkins rangers around here mostly striped cause of the low hp

  • this looks like a nice diesel ranger. would you ever sell?

  • I have a mint 87 for sale

  • That looks and sounds very good condition, You see alot of beat up ones around

  • the ranger is a very good truck i got one with 976,700 miles on it and the is all still original but i agree the diesel sux

  • You gotta be shittin' me.

  • holly piss, good job man I thought my buddys 190,000 was a lot.

    You sir are amazing.

  • The 4spd in these trucks is worthless. Not sure what Ford was thinking (they werent) at the time. But in 1984 a 5spd was a little known extra cost option that most people didnt get sad to say.

  • the 5spd was great to have with the v6 and maybe 2.3l gasoline I4 but it would almost never if ever go into 5th with the 2.2l and probably 2.3l diesel.

  • Trust me the 2.2 diesel needed the 5spd and most never got it. Thats why most Mazda diesels blew up in Rangers because they screamed at 70 MPH in 4th. Ive owned Mazda diesels in both trucks and the 5 spd makes a world of differance on the highway.

  • What kind of MPG do those get?

  • the 2.2l diesel ranger got around 40 miles to the gallon, but it was slow.

  • ACTUALLY that engine is all MAZDA built under license from Perkins. Ive had 25 years experience with them and it was one of the best damn 4cyl diesels ever built. I drove an 83 Mazda 579,000 miles with one of them in it.

  • ChaChiVooDoo is correct. These little oil burners last FOREVER. A friend's dad had one that had close to 400,000 miles on it when he sold it recently. Wish I could have bought it from him...

  • that buzzer sounds like my 1986 Ford Mustang LX hatchback, but twice as annoying.

  • wow that buzzer is annoying

  • this is a damn shame when Ford stopped making the Ranger Diesel. They should make a Power Stroke version of it.

  • it sounds like a Japanese diesel engine but it's not. This is a Ford 2.2-liter 4-cylinder in it.

  • The ford 2.2l diesel was actually bought from mazda for these trucks. Mazda did not build the motor themselves either, they were built by perkins.

  • It depends on the year of the truck, if it's a 1985 or newer it has a 2.3L mitsubishi turbo diesel.

  • 83-84 was Mazda and 85-87 was Mitsubishi but that engine sucked badly compared to the bullet proof Mazda.

  • A Japanese Diesel engine, eh?

  • the rarest Ford Ranger Diesel you cannot find anymore. Too bad when Ford decided to stop making the Ford Ranger Diesel

  • It said for sale before i clicked on it, but it doesnt say anything about it on here....is it?

  • OMG! so clean and new!

  • the rarest ranger
