  • I have a raised scar and had it since July, I want to get it removed not treat it, could I get it removed all at once, rather then waiting months.

  • Curious...Why and how does rubbing the particular scar with oil ,ect. nullify and/or crue it?

  • If any one in here, is considering laser or injections, please don' t even think about it.. injections is like putting acid inside your skin and it can leave you with a depress scar and laser basically pissed of your hypertrophic scar more... the best advice he gave is rubbing and that's the only one that work the best and it's free. also you can use any type of oil, I personally prefer olive oil because it helps with colors. peace people and wishing you all the best healing.

  • Thank you Doctor <3

  • i have a raised scar under my nose but above my mouth. i have had it for about two years at first i was using mederma like when i first got it but i stopped using it because i lost my tube of mederma. will it be too late for my scarring to go down since it has been two years?

  • I got a huge scar on the left foot :b it's a couple month ago and it keeps me from wearing shorts/showing legs :( i'm very sad about it so i'm gonna try. Thank you!!!!!

  • Hi Dr.Schultz, I don't have any Vaseline, but could I use Shea butter oil as an alternative

  • I've had a deep scar for a year now (raised but slightly flat)

What's the best way to treat it???

from this video I'm going to start using vaseline and rubbing.....

  • Does this also count for scars after surgery/stitches?

  • I have 12-year-old raised scars. Does that mean there's no hope of ever treating them or minimizing the raised appearance? =( I wish I knew about this information years ago.

  • @Lalaine8U I have a skin that tend to by hypertophic when scared, and I got a few of them on my fingers from playing sports and one even next to my nose, and seriously, it's never too late to do something about them, there is no dead line. I tried all sort of things in the past, such as lasers, injections, silicons and all soft of toping and the truth is the best treatment i found is rubbing them with my fingers and putting pressures on them, that friction erases them.

  • @Lalaine8U oh and another thought and i am speaking from experience, is don't waste your time with dermatologist offering you laser or injections....most of them don't know what they are doing and also it irritate the scar and change it's colors... again, keep rubbing, use olive oil on the scar while you rub.. exfoliate in the shower a few times a weeks to fade colors and within less than a year time, it will disappear neutrally.

  • I wish I saw this video years ago. My doctor didn't tell me any of that. I fell on cement and it resulted in a deep cut, and eventually raised scar on my hand. I used scar gel on my own, and it improved my raised scar, but its still there. I've had the scar on my hand for 5 years now. It doesn't hurt, but I dislike it. Is it too late to fix it?

  • Has there been any success in using this for small keloid scar?

Please get back to me when you can.

I really don't want to get surgery for it since it's so small.

    Thank you!

  • Haha I'm such an idiot. I thought Doc said 15 to 30 mins and I did that, without lubrication. Damn, now my skin's a little torn. :( Right, so lubrication and 15 to 30 secs. Thanks Doc!

  • @felicia3felixz He said 15 to 30 minutes, I'm pretty sure.

  • @Minerallmu I heard "seconds". Hmmm... I'm gonna keep to seconds :) Thanks anyway!

  • thx for the video!

  • Thanks Dr. schultz =)

  • where can u get scar gel?

  • @cuttie101248 Pretty much abywhere.

  • @Minerallmu like where?

  • Hi Dr Schultz, What if I have hypertrophic scars from pimples left on my nose? should I still use the vaseline remedy?

  • ; what about pigmented scars from bleeding scratch wounds?

  • @theMilkz You can try

  • how to i get rid of acne scars?

  • how do you get rid of burn scars?

  • @teawilli You can only expect so much improvement, You can't get rid of scars.

  • @teawilli leave it :\ i got my first burn scar in the 7th grade now im a college freshman and its finally gone

  • Can you please do a video about treating keloids? I had a spontaneous ulcer on my back and when it healed, it became raised. I'm not sure if it's a scar or a keloid. Based on what you said, I think it may be a keloid.

  • Hey Doctor can u please make a video about scars that are deep. My scar in my eyebrow is NOT raised is actually the Opposite of it. My scar is long and a lil deep. It annoys me because when i go out in the sun u could see like how deep it is. Kinda like an acne scar, except the scar in longer. Plz Help. Thxs.

  • @manchesredhill Def. stay out of the sun. That goes for all scarts.

  • Keloid scars are the worst. You can never fix them. It's permanent.

  • Very interesting! I had no idea that scars could be removed by rubbing!

  • I'm still waiting to hear about how best to remove facial worts. the ones which are a few shades darker than skin tone.

  • You are the best, doctor! Thank you for answering my question!!!!

  • This is superb information, thank you! Just one question. How old does the scar have to be, before it's considered too late to treat with milder, over the counter treatments? I have a bothersome surgical scar that is nearly 4 years old

  • Thank you!!

    You are totally hot!

  • Thanks Doc
