  • "When your engine is warm, it really makes it very easy to keep clean because it's it's hot on a nice day like today... it's good."

    Make since much do we?

  • If the engine is hot, don't use cold water because it can crack the block. Also, if there are some smaller electrical components visible, I'd suggest using any plastic wrap to cover them. It's not recommended using a pressure washer to clean an engine. Instead, use a garden hose with an adjustable head so that you don't risk flooding the airbox, damaging the hoses, and connections to electrical components.

  • Thanks for the vid ;) The guy peeing on the wall made for a good laugh ;) And yes, you can power wash your engine people...my friend has been doing it for years and hasn't had a single problem.

  • pressure washer, really?

No wonder american cars are so crap, my japanese car is perfectly well cleaned by some elbow grease, methelated spirits, and brasso.

sticking a pressure washer runs the rusk of flooding your airbox.

  • 3 years...... i see that..

  • so it cleans up all the oil and etc? just one example lol good vid

  • Pressure washer........eeeeeee

  • At 1:25 a guy totally walks up and takes a piss on the wall at the bottom right hahaha

  • @aylera lmao

  • Is it necessary to get the engine cleaned ??

  • illl be scared to mess up the engine.

  • much better than the chick on that other video

  • Can you use any degreaser? Or is it a certain engine degreaser?

  • Did you hear his voice? Resembles Obama :)

  • @massborg yeah

  • Hey do I have to let my car running while I'm washing the engine?

And I have a 2002 toyota celica, wat do I have to cover? The intake? Or something else?

  • BTW - true confession... I'm a newbee at this and have never cleaned underneath the hood...so, I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for the distributor cap.

  • @mygalmo the spark plugs connect to sparg plug wires, which connects to the distributor

  • Excellent video! Can I use this on 99' Honda Accord EXV6 w/o covering the dist. cap

  • Suggestion: May want to cover the alternator, intakes and distributor (as mentioned) before spraying and blow the engine dry with a leaf blower or air compressor. Finally, spray your connectors (battery, etc) with an oil to prevent rust.

  • where did u buy the degreaser?

  • Name 1 way cleaning the engine bay helps increase it's performance...

  • @BlakeCastle if it has a good deal of dirt grease and grime it can make it be a little hotter due to it cant dissapate the heat now if clean and the hot air is out of there the motor runs cooler and the cooler it runs the better resulting in better performance

  • @BlakeCastle A clean engine improves resale value and that helps your wallets performance. You'll never see a dirty engine at Carmax or first rated dealerships.

  • @BlakeCastle Havent you ever played need for speed??? clearly adding stickers and in this case cleaning your engine bay adds extra hp. man your dum! lol. the only thing i could see is if you left the cover off your air filter and you cleaned it at the same time

  • @csa9 however if you clean the engine, engine area will be smooth and not dirty so air go through faster. If it is dusty and dirty, air wouldn't go right into intake quick.

  • @ikuybaka maybe but think about this- if dust particles slow down your air intake then think of what your air filter does...thats way more dramatic than dust particles. Another conceptual idea is when you look at a river, you'll see the water swirling near the bank (that would be the dust) and in the center the water moves along (Water is a decent comparison because you can visualize the flow). So your definitely right, but I really don't think that would make any difference.
