    also if it is a 1.8L or 2.0L it won't make 635BHP @ 1,5bar except you're running CR of 12:1 or something, but then it wouldn't last very long.

    A well tuned 2JZ goes over 600BHP at 1.3-1.5bar of boost, but there we talk about 3.0L 6 Cyl. and this Honda doesn't sound like a 6 Cyl. xD

  • @ImMrHonda4u I am owning a Lexus IS300 with 2JZ-GTE engine, it isn't perfectly tuned right now but quite well. I did 581BHP - 650NM @ 1,3bar, so I am pretty sure this honda engine is running much more boost,it is pulling great, so I guess around 2,5bar of boost.

    Just calculate: stock HP x (boost + 1) = Turbo BHP

    If it was stock Type R (maybe) 180BHP x 3,5 = 630BHP (would mean 2,5bar of boost) (this calculation formular is just to get the approx. power rate, it is not all too exact)

  • @EJ1OverSpool you want to say 17% (108HP of power loss) just due to drive train, especially on a FWD car??? I would sell the car, sorry. My IS300 got 581BHP and the dyno jet recorded accurate 540RWHP, means a power loss of 40HP (7%) on RWD!!!

    Further more, also with a T88 you won't get 527 RWHP out of an N/A 180HP rated 4cyl. engine with just 1.5bar of boost.

  • @RoadRash188 uh yeah 17% is about right for B and H series motors. you registered at 581BHP, then used a dynojet...is your 4th gear EXACTLY 1:1? because thats what they are calibrated for. 527FWHP(but i know what your saying). he didnt post his build, so i dont know his compression or really anything about what he did. but assuming its a built motor, it doesnt seem strange to me at all.

  • @RoadRash188 also i had to confirm it, but the auto trans is300 has a 20% drivetrain loss, the manual has a 13% drivetrain loss.

  • @EJ1OverSpool I was in 5th gear because it is running a V160 (Supra 6 speed transmission) and it is 1:1. Well no matter if 13% or 20%, the power loss was measured by the dyno, so it is just 7%.

  • @RoadRash188 ooh okay so its not the transmission that came stock. i was under the impression it was a stock transmission, so thats what i was going off of. the newer K series motors have about that much drivetrain loss(6-8%), but b series is cheaper to make more, so 17% isnt a huge deal.

  • cylinder pressure is cylinder pressure. 12:1 with 1.5bar isnt much different than 10:1 with 2.2bars. the boost and compression are in a dance. screw up either one from tuning and its pointless to argue compression or boost. seeing as how they both relate to cylinder pressure just the same

  • @logicisreasonable with the only one difference that on low CR you can run way more boost, which means more Air/Fuel mixture and more BHP at high-end

  • @RoadRash188 Never is a strong word, especially considering theres more than a few k20's putting out this power at the same boost level. Google 600whp k20 and click the first k20a forum one. 600fwhp k20 on 22.8psi with a stock long block (inc cams) + valve springs. This isnt a 1 off hand grenade, and like i said - it isnt the only engine doing so. A stock 2j will push 600whp on 19psi just with a t67 + supporting mods on pump unleaded, so dunno what you mean by well tuned.

    if the car diddn't persevere enough speed and change gears to early the gear is too heavy for the engine to stay on power.

    so thats why every honda owner bounce there cars in the rev limiter.

    The car isn't heavy, he's saying that if your just going to shift into another gear right before wheelspin starts with a car making power, the car will feel sluggish cause its at low rpms, where MOST cars aren't making much power.

  • @momo21495 -Port and polished head. -different cams. -different valve springs. -race header. -race intake. -bigger diameter and a straight line exhaust. -bigger diameter of cilinder. -high compression pistons -lightweight flywheel. -balanced & blueprinted engine. or @ some forced induction, but that is another story

  • @momo21495 The poster left out 1 crucial piece of information, get a NEW MOTOR. He got to 635 on a K20(from a USDM Acura RSX-S) which starts at 210 hp.

    Heres the best advice you'll ever hear, SCRAP THAT D14 that you have. Putting ANY money into that is a complete waste. Honestly, I'm not a K-series fan on light FWD hatches, my advice would be to get a non-vtec B18B (if your broke) or a B18c1 GSR, or a B18C from Japan if you have the money.

    Your best bet tho, get a new car. Swaps are expensive.

  • the thing is my civic it a D14 not a B series. And becaus mine is a petrol not a diesel i cant put a turbo on mine. I have to temper my engine (heating my engine and cooling it to make the metal harder) since the turbo would dammage my engine parts!!

  • @momo21495 its prob a d16 not d14 being that I've never heard of a 1.4L honda single cam. Honda doesn't make diesel engines, and you can turbo the d series just fine. It's been done many times. It's not that your engine can't handle the heat, it's just that it was never made for a turbo so there are procedures you need to do such as find the right comp. ratio pistons to run, get stronger rods, balance the cranks, sleeve the block, bigger injectors etc... It all depends on what your goals are.
