There's a second motor that makes it rotate on the way up. Not sure exactly why this second motor is never working in the September and October months, some suggested it could have something to do with the cold weather, but I have noticed it's the time of year the park tries to save the most money by turning off as much as they can in the park to save on power, so it could be a number of things.

@KICincinnati The rotation is driven by the four arms that extend downwards from the catchcar, they have tires on the end that push the car around. Not sure about why they stop the rotation.
