  • Yes. It came with a MCO which I used to apply for a title. The motor vehicle place gave me a hard time with it, though, since they thought the Ebay person who sold it to me brand new in the box should have transfered a title to me (from a different state, no less). I argued that until I put a motor on it, it was not a motor vehicle and therefore previously needed no title. Eventually, I won them over, but it was a hassle. If none comes in the box you can get one from Sevylor's website.

  • When you purchased your boat did you receive a "manufactures certificate of origin" or something similar to a title. I was thinking of getting one but in PA we are required to have something that states were it was made.

  • Very nice... really like the motor mount you built.

  • @Mellifiori Thanks!

  • Two more questions... What are the measurements of the length and actual width (widest point) of the hard floor? Also, I'm going to be using it in saltwater with currents and tides to consider. Do you think that a 55lb thrust motor would be overkill?

  • @recruita Sorry, I don't have the floor measurements handy since the whole thing is packed up and stored for the winter. Best thing is to inflate your boat and take the measurements since each boat might be slightly different anyway. 40lb thrust moves it along well, but I'm not dealing with currents (yet). Too much power all at once might stress the rear of the boat as it flexes, but as long as you increase the power gradually, I can't see how 55lbs would hurt.

  • After seeing your video I got psyched and decided to buy a 360 and rig it similar to yours. I did a little comparative shopping and decided to get it from Amazon ( best price and free shipping). The day I decided to order it it was GONE and replaced by a model 3408. I went back to all the other sites that had it and they too only had the 3408. I guess the 360 was replaced by the 3408. I hope the change was made for improvement sake and not for manufacturing cost cutting.

  • @recruita Well, that's strange. I hope the new one is even better, like you said. I purchased mine on Ebay, new in the box.

  • Thanks for your quick response. Are the 2x4's connected in any way or just by the pipes going from the top down and the bottom up?

  • @recruita Just the pipes hold them together. Since the holes were drilled slightly off from one board to the other the pipes fit tightly. Would be easy to join the boards if necessary, however.

  • Really nice job! Thanks for posting. It looks like the rods for the motor mount go back at a slight angle but you used a 90 degree elbow to the plastic insert (where you used the reducer elbow). Does something hav to be bent somewhere to make this work? Also what length shaft is on the Minn Kota? Thanks again.

  • @recruita Thank you! No bending was necessary. The 2x4s are 21.5 inches long and I drilled the holes for the pipes 4.5 inches from each end. There is just enough play in the hole in the plastic part to accomodate the angle. I played with the pipes and hole placement to see what worked before I drilled the holes and soldered the rods. The motor shaft is about 3 feet.

  • great job mate, I was wondering about this boat for a while. You sold it to me, I'm geting one of those tomorrow.

  • @pcolmegna Thank you. I hope you have fun with it. I'm looking forward to warmer weather so I can take mine out again!

  • Nice job!

  • @BlackOpsFishing Thanks very much.

  • my twin and i got hf360, vrla agm 120ah 12v battery, charger, paddles 55lbs trolling motor, motor mount etc. Only problem that many people have complained about is the heat tolerance. the boat goes soft and stretches badly. There is a uv sock but many complain of drag from filling with water. Its plenty of fun to drive though but ideally you need about 250 ah to last the day with out worrying about battery levels

  • @ecp4500 I had mine out on one of the hottest, sunniest days of the summer (high 90s) and had no problems with it stretching. I could tell it felt slightly "softer" than in cooler weather, but there were no performance or inflation issues. As long as it's on the water and not left cooking in direct sunlight on the bank for a long time I don't think heat is much of an issue. The boat and the battery held up fine all day. I was the one that suffered from the heat! :-) (See my other video)

  • Hi,

Great ideas, grat info! regarding the motor mount, are these plain 2X4 pieces? did you varnish, stain them to protect from water? as for the battery box, did you built it yourself? what wood is it made of?

    Thanks!

  • @Techland99 Yes, just some scrap 2x4s I had. I built the battery box out of cheap whiteboard. All wood is sprayed with Thompson's water seal to repel water.

  • @gnarlyspoon

Thank you so much for your replies! most helpful!

  • @Techland99 And I also stapled a cheap rubber car mat to the bottom of the battery box so it doesn't slide around on the smooth floor.

  • doesn't the black floor get hot.

  • @fishrcoolturtles2 It's dark red from the factory. Doesn't really get hot. With all my stuff in the boat not much floor is exposed to the sun. :-)

  • Awesome motor mount.

  • @MrPlowboy66 Thanks!

  • Looks nice! What size trolling motor shaft are you using?

  • @BarryUSAcom Thanks! It's a 40lb thrust motor with a 36 in shaft.

  • Nice rig! Very good ideas!

  • @aramos811 Thank you!

  • good job man!

  • @morisato25 Thanks very much! Took her out yesterday. Video is up.
