  • DINNER!

  • were are you

  • nice Flathead!

  • Newby here starting to catfish.. For cats Bout 25-70lb I have the big water ugly stix medium heavy with the penn fierce 7000 model reel. 25lb line. You think this is good enough for that range of cats? And live bait vs cut bait somebody please help me here. Thanks so much. Btw I'm from GA and have many lakes where there's supposed to be "monsters" haha. Thanks guys

  • @aroccop Line is good. Might want to go a little heavier if fishing around submerged snags and stuff. Cut bait is good for channels, live is better for flatheads.

  • Great Job, Nice to see sportsmen....Thx for sharing..

  • HOLY COW!!! I caught one on a creek but it was very small so i took it home and put it in my 55 gal aquarium! Thought it was the coolest thing.. he was only like 3 pounds not very big.. never seen a BIG Tabby cat until now!! that is awesome!! I loved fishing the Tom Bigbee!! Greatest memories i have!!

  • answer the phone man!!! LOL great catch!

  • what you useing as bait?

  • 80lb line to catch a 49 lb cat wth

  • @MrClarkleroy Not sure what your wth is for, but a 49 lb fish can exert force much higher than 80 lbs because of it's acceleration while swimming. F = ma. Thus, the need for high strength lines. Additionally, catfish tend to seek bottom structure when hooked, necessitating the heavy line to turn the fish during a strong run before it can get tangled on the bottom.

  • Y U NO EAT?

  • @xDaanniieeL because only idiots eat fish that big thats what keeps more people from catching the trophys

  • @xDaanniieeL catfish arent has tasty as they get bigger 3-10lb's are good eating

  • I normally use purple goldfish for shovelheads! They always bite off them!

  • These guys normally use live bullheads for bait.

  • what did you use for bait

  • thats abig ass fish

  • begeiners luck

  • @DtroFishOn Niceeeeeee Cat . What Did Yhou Use For Bait.?? And Wat Size Hook.?

  • skip to 3:30 and save3 minutes of ur life

  • great fish big ones are fun

  • what do you use for bait

  • i use 25 lb. berkley big game and catch catfish up to 80lb all day

  • does cut up bluegill work well?

  • @MrMcTouch2Much anything bloody or stinky or lively usually works pretty well for catfish personally i just use worms. ill catch anything its loads of fun im always lookin for a catty when im reeling the fish in but ill catch chubs bass bluegill carp suckers etc etc its fun

  • @MrMcTouch2Much Not really. You can catch the smaller (20 pounds or less usually) on cut bait. They prefer live bait. If you're going after a big one, use a nice big live bluegill.

  • @MrMcTouch2Much Live bait for flatheads that is. Cut bait for other catfish

  • I live in minnesota myself, and the only time i notice the minnesotan accent is when im watching minnesotan videos! But nice fish!

  • now thats a river monster lol. nice catch

  • 80 is big enough. if u wanna hoss it in. i use 45# Micro Braid and i can catch fish up to 80# all day long

  • 3:20 ...... You're welcome.

  • sweet catch man !!!!

  • why is he not trying to rail it in?

  • how much was the pole

  • i use 50lb PowerPro braid for big flatheads. if you need to get him out of a logjam quick, it will get him out. caught a 60lb flathead just this week- a 78 a week prior- and a 92lb a month ago. love NC!!!! i use a baitrunner 6500 for bigguns. nice fish guyz! for anyone else, flatheads are not yellow cats by far. yellow cats are a muddy catfish. google it before some think it is just the same fish just bigger. there is a difference.

  • congratulations man big yellow cat

  • If you pluck the string like a guitar it will sting him and get it off the bottom!! Do this several times and up they come! We have caught 70lber like that! good luck

  • YEAH BUDDY!!!

  • i lost 6 in 1day and it was during the day... NICE FUCKEN FISH!!

  • Nice one!!! Congrats!

  • What pound line do you use? im tryin to go after the big daddys

  • @rueve1311 He is using a braided line dosen't look to be power pro (prob. the best brand) I would guess maybe 40-50# test. I personally use 80# power pro but 40-50 would bring in just about any fish you could catch.

  • @rueve1311 had 80lb Sufix spooled up on that reel

  • @DTroFishOn i use that for offshore

  • @rueve1311 whatsup man? Yeah I've landed a 112 lbs Blue Catfish in GA on the Coosa River with 25 lbs test....drag and how you fight it is the most important factor anyway...some of the biggest fish in the world are caught on no more than 40 lbs test AT THE MOST... I've never had to use higher than 25lbs test in freshwater...

  • @rueve1311 I use 50 lb Power Pro on my Baitcaster. It seems to work pretty well. If you go too heavy, the line doesn't cast as well.

  • big big big big fishy fish
