neat video guys. I take it alginate not necessary on the back of the head as plaster takes the form ok. Looking at all the stuff i can to have a go at a full head cast.
Love the vids. What was the substance you brushed on after the first coat of aliginate? And what was the second (more flesh toned) coat? A faster setting aliginate?
sorry to bother you again but can you basiclly send me a message involving the whole process of part 1 and 2 and tell me the things you used in order thanks lawrence.
Hi lawrencearbery, we use a product called alginate to lifecast the head or any part of the body. There are 2 types "dental alginate" which is fast setting(apprx 2 minute set time), hence for making casts of teeth for dental work or small facial areas and "prosthetic grade alginate" which has a longer working/setting time of approx 5/8 minutes to allow for larger mould making of faces, heads, arms etc. Alginate is also non toxic and completely organic to its totally safe to use on the skin
thanks toclafane, glad you like our stuff. When we create prosthetics etc theres a lot of processes involved,e.g lifecasting, sculpting, moulding, makeup, its usually very time consuming and can be quite costly. Our work is dependant on the budget the film maker/producer etc has to offer. So really you need to allow for that in your project. Have you a budget/plan for your project(s)?
GREAT BALDCAP appliaction there Hush. Prof we can't even see the line of demarcation!! HAHA!! GREAT video guys. HOPE those who WANT to know watch this and "get it" where so many here on YT show lifecasting but screw it up so badly it's scary. AT least you guys know what you're doing. FXMan
Thanks FX man, my bald caps are fantastic are'nt they, almost as if there was'nt one there!Yeh there have been some poor examples of "how not to lifecast" has'nt there, ya gotta be safe, not sorry i say!!
