I KNOW IF YOU LOOK AT THE TITLE IT SAYS 1935...I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY KEYBOARD..i didnt see the mistake till after i posted...i'm glad ya liked it any way...thanks...lol..i knew someone was gonna see that :P
2009 is a year in which many many celebrities, singers, athletes, political figures, and other notables died. Even the guy who sang "Those Are The People Who Died", Jim Carroll, passed away this year. They are dropping like flies in 2009.
I met Henry once in the last 1960's. He was doing a promo with Ruth Buzy at a local supermarket in Folsom, Ca. I was just 8 or 9 years old but I'll never forget meeting him.
In addition to Henry Gibson's special talent, he was a sweet guy. I was a writer on Laugh-In -- my first writing gig I ever had. I was just a 20 year old kid, but Henry treated me like I was "somethin special". He wrote many of his poems, but delivered the poems the writers wrote for him with his delightful delivery. Henry and I would run into each other at various Laugh-In tributes -- still the same great guy. I'll miss him. ...Rowby
"Laugh-in" was a great show. It made us all feel a little more free and embrace the world and each other a little more. Thanks to Henry for contributing his quiet and sweet poetry. Thanks for your writing contributions to making the world a better place to live and be.
i remember when FLORENCE BALLARD died of the supremes in '76..i was 13 and thought WOW SHE WAS 32..SHE HAD A LONG LIFE...now at 46...i think 70 is still young..thats the way the cookie crumbles

This the perfect tribute to Henry Gibson . . . Posted as a poem with no poem. Poetic justice I would say.

Very nice, Paul. Thanks. A minor quibble, though. He was born in 1935, not 1939.
