oh for crying out loud. As soon as the left (the ACTUALL left) gets any hold of society, they start fighting against each others. Both Bernie Sanders and Ralph Nader are politicians that would actually do something, something good.
Time since this has shown what liars, corporate lackeys and traitors Shumlin and Obama both are. The same can be said for 90% of the Democrat party and 99% of the Republican party. We will just continue our slide into fascism unless we wake up soon and elect a lot more 3rd party candidates who actually represent We the People again, instead of their corporate paymasters.
Nader has a point. Bernie Sanders should just go ahead and start the debate by proposing the bill. There is enough public support for it. I dare say that Sanders is not taking a more aggressive stand on single-payer because he doesn't want to offend the Dem. leadership--which to me is quite cowardly for a politician who is such a good leader on so many other issues.
Nader is the man. Shumlin your a corporate pawn. Ok. Your part of the problem and I can not wait till all democrats and republicans are voted out and over taken by 3rd party candidates.
Please, he is controlled by the democrats and if the man had any balls he woudl admit that the Democrats have been in bed with the CEO's and lobby groups. He is "practically" a progressive, Nader is ACTUALLY a progressive and has been for 40 yerars. So dont tell me I odnt know about"local" politics...its called the internet.
This oily Sanders advocate dares to try and debate Mr.Nader, when no one else will! Please note, he switched Ralph's words (and concept), from "single-payer", to "universal healthcare". Look it up folks, it's apples and oranges! Don't mess with Ralph's words. Shows you are an idiot.
People who say they don't know where Nader has been or what he does besides running for president are ignorant idiots who should be ashamed of their stupidity.
True thisismyfunnyname, he has gotten a lot done for this country. But after the 2008 election I'd really like to see Nader as present as he is during it. I wanna see Ralf rally up the people and go grassroots style instead of just presidenr=tial runs. I've heard people say he seems to disappear between elections in recent history.
Oh please! Obama does not have single payer healthcare on his agenda, and he will never have it unless his hand is forced so hard that it is about to break off!
good god there it is right in front of our eyes. Saint Ralph speaker of truth followed by diablo the walking talking corp. Yuk! Ralph's got my vote & he should have yours too....
Obama gets more money from the HMO's than McCain, if Peter Shumlin thinks that an Obama presidency would sign single-payer, he's got another think coming to him.
I never said he was a revolutionary socialist did I? no, what I meant is that term is very misleading, social democrats should really start being very distict in their words, Socialism is not France, thats not a bad trade up from what we have but theres a distiction between the terms. Thats what I meant I really thought it was sel;f explanatory (SD is not S)
he has referred to himself and his philosphy as socialist, and has referred to himself as a democratic socialist countless times jerk!
Hmmm....Didn't I hear this same argument back in the Clinton years, with no change and no action. Clinton's campaign was based on Universal Healthcare, and weren't the American people betrayed as soon as he was elected. How many people have died because of this pay or die system in those years between. Do you honestly believe with all the money Obama is receiving in campaign contributions from pharmaceticals, insurance cos, HMO's that things will be any different this time?

What? Shumlin is practically a Progressive.

Nader is involved in such activity. It just receives even less attention than his presidential runs.

@xtcpa best thing for vermont is to get rid of corporate healthcare- he is actually suggesting the exact opposite of what you are saying.

I wanna' hear Nader's rebuttal to this guy, and shame on Sanders, the self proclaimed socialist (though I'm sure he means social democrat)
So to be clear, you and Comicvolcano are voting Nader for sure right?

Nader's got my vote. He'll always have my vote as long as he stands for the values he holds today.

Bernie Sanders has only called himself a social democrat. He's never run as a socialist and he's never called himself a socialist.
You people outside Vermont are fools when it comes to our politics.
