Years ago I was working at Sunset Akron, and in comes Miss Horne wearing jeans and a sweatshirt, no makeup,she was one of the prettiest ladies i've seen, and the sweetest. She was so down to earth and talked to everyone like she knew them. What a treat for me. R.I.P beautiful lady.

Lena was up there with Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and many others. Each performer had their own styles, but all had incredible voices. Lena did a TV special when she was 82 and it showed her in a recording studio. She kept her voice until then! Her beauty stayed with her. She will be greatly missed.
