The AI system for diplomacy SUCK!! Why is it that when I am "Friendly" with another civ, it , for no reason, declares war on me!? Especially when playing a peaceful civ! Either make a diplomacy that works or lose the "diplomacy status" altogether! That way it won't be a complete surprise when someone declare war on you!

Can anyone tell me how airplanes works in this game?
How do u make them move, fly where u want. I cant get my airplanes up in the air so if someone could like tell me wich buttons to press or something to make it move.
When performing an airplane attack, your target needs to be in attack range. If your plane is based in city far away from the target, you need to rebase it to a closer city (you have a rebase button when you select an airplane) or to a plane carrier. Every time you attack, plane will just bombard the target and return to that city/carrier.
For all of you comparing Total War games to Civilization:
You all are crapping about battles being more fun in TW games, well Civilization isn't just about WAR like TW is, you can win through Science or Diplomacy. This game is all about GENERAL STRATEGY (and not just about Military Strategy). You are running a civilization from it's first days here, and you need to take care about everything it needs and make it dominate (and not to conquer everyone like in TW)!
i just got this game and heres me revew. if you like stratagy games, this is one of the best. but it'll take you a very long time to finish it. i really like this game. but if your more in to action stratagies. you might as well but supreme commander. this game is more stratigic though. it lets you manage an empire's food, resorces, land, technologies, as well as millitary
@duirling Part 2 - Civilization on the other hand is different.. you start with a settler and a group of soliders and you create the cities, found the tech trees. Total war games only span a certain era but are more specific on detail of that era and combat is wayyyy more fun and it is the most realistic.. Civ spans ALL the era from caveman to future and you create all the cities, Troops and advance tech trees to unlock better weapons. Thats the best I can explain it :P
@duirling Ok.. I'll have a go at it lol, Total war is more controlled but way more realist and combat is a hell of alot more fun. But Total war is more historicly accurate. For instance you only have the cities of the time avaiable to conquer. You only have faction that were around that time period as well.. And each game fully spans a certain era. For instance Rome total war only spans a Ancient greek-ish era and so there will be no guns.. This is part 1 :P
to people who say this game is crap compared to age of empires: IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME!!! Civilization gives you unprecedented control over all aspects of running an empire and all the micro management that comes with it. You start from before christ and can play all the way to 2050. Age of empirers is a real-time strategy where games are limited to a tiny 20x20 map and last for an hour if you're lucky. I can spend DAYS on a Civ game.
I like Fallout 1 & 2 more... Fallout 3 was ok'ish, again, Fallout: New Vegas: Ok. And the same goes for this, i actually like Civ 3 & 4 the rest were [are]: Ok.

This game is so good, start any random game and you will be playing till the end. The combat system is so much better than previous installments and makes this game.

Can anyone tell me how airplanes works in this game?
How do u make them move, fly where u want. I cant get my airplanes up in the air so if someone could like tell me wich buttons to press or something to make it move.

When performing an airplane attack, your target needs to be in attack range. If your plane is based in city far away from the target, you need to rebase it to a closer city (you have a rebase button when you select an airplane) or to a plane carrier. Every time you attack, plane will just bombard the target and return to that city/carrier.

For all of you comparing Total War games to Civilization:
You all are crapping about battles being more fun in TW games, well Civilization isn't just about WAR like TW is, you can win through Science or Diplomacy. This game is all about GENERAL STRATEGY (and not just about Military Strategy). You are running a civilization from it's first days here, and you need to take care about everything it needs and make it dominate (and not to conquer everyone like in TW)!

i just got this game and heres me revew. if you like stratagy games, this is one of the best. but it'll take you a very long time to finish it. i really like this game. but if your more in to action stratagies. you might as well but supreme commander. this game is more stratigic though. it lets you manage an empire's food, resorces, land, technologies, as well as millitary

@duirling Part 2 - Civilization on the other hand is different.. you start with a settler and a group of soliders and you create the cities, found the tech trees. Total war games only span a certain era but are more specific on detail of that era and combat is wayyyy more fun and it is the most realistic.. Civ spans ALL the era from caveman to future and you create all the cities, Troops and advance tech trees to unlock better weapons. Thats the best I can explain it :P

@duirling Ok.. I'll have a go at it lol, Total war is more controlled but way more realist and combat is a hell of alot more fun. But Total war is more historicly accurate. For instance you only have the cities of the time avaiable to conquer. You only have faction that were around that time period as well.. And each game fully spans a certain era. For instance Rome total war only spans a Ancient greek-ish era and so there will be no guns.. This is part 1 :P

to people who say this game is crap compared to age of empires: IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME!!! Civilization gives you unprecedented control over all aspects of running an empire and all the micro management that comes with it. You start from before christ and can play all the way to 2050. Age of empirers is a real-time strategy where games are limited to a tiny 20x20 map and last for an hour if you're lucky. I can spend DAYS on a Civ game.

I like Fallout 1 & 2 more... Fallout 3 was ok'ish, again, Fallout: New Vegas: Ok. And the same goes for this, i actually like Civ 3 & 4 the rest were [are]: Ok.
