Well I don't understand this video, but that doesn't matter, all that matters is that I am from an Awesome state like Wisconsin, and I still live here, and you can have 4 seasons in a week, which I think it pretty darn sweet!
...i'm from wisconsin... what do you guys mean we don't sound like this? some people do, actually. it's interesting to hear every once in a while. it's probably stronger if you were born and raised here, but i hear stuff like this all the time, especially with the older people or people who are more... "farm"-ish.
I'm from wisconsin. What we all need to realize is that, no matter how much people make fun of our "accent", our accent will never be as ridiculous as southern accents.
@poppunklifestyle Exactly! To some we might sound 'different' but you can understand what we are saying (I am from central WI). In the south they add syllables that aren't there, take out syllables that are needed in a word, and drag out the vowels so you aren't sure what they are trying to say...If our 'accent' is so bad, why is it desired by news broadcasters and actors so as not to be judged soley from where they are from?
" oh yeah up der in da nortdwoods a in wisconsin dont ya know" . . . .. . . . Yeah people from Wisconsin dont talk like this. But i however do to mock the people who think we do only sometimes : )
@ImaNerdatHear ohhh yaaaa, lol fargo ruined Wisconsin accents in the view of America. its the same as Texas and western movies, 'cept some texans talk like that.... (i know a few.... as in 1)
I am from northwest Wisconsin, and very little of this sounded odd to me. Most people I know have said "you betcha" at some point, but most of us don't have quite that much drawl on the "yah."
"How ya doing der"? I'm from wisconsin and the only people I've ever heard say that are the people who claim to be making fun of our accents.. This video is retarded, and most people here in Wisconsin don't talk like that, try again buddy!
jeez, this video ain't get much of dem cheeshead talk-ways. i mean der's, hackey (hockey) ey (hey) how ya doing der?, f-teen (fifteen) and tapiOca (big o in that one)
Hi when someone can decipher what the hot blonde granny is saying dressed in her 1890's dominatrix gear at heritage hill, I'd appreciate a translation.
@rhammes07 its called old world wisconsin and she is saying sofa. ok? dont make fun of the people from old world wisconsin. ok? that place is awesome and i would love to go see it again.
I'm not from the South, but what cracks me up is when people from Wisconsin think that those from Indianapolis or Kansas City have southern accents, when actually THOSE are the accents that are considered the most neutral midwestern accents- the same accent that Newscasters strive for (and no I'm not from either of those two cities)
No, thebrujaisbackagain, people don't usually say those things anywhere else except MN and WI. Sorry to burst your bubble but I've been all over the country and those a distinctively WI and MN. At least in everyday speak...
@heartzstarznsmilz You're full of shit lol. Nobody says "ya know" and "ya betcha" besides Minnesotans and Wisconsinites. I grew up on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border and got the hell outta there when I graduated High School...since then I've traveled and lived ALL OVER the US and I've NEVER come across anyone else who says that haha!
i didnt what what the one lady was saying when she making some sort of food?
yeah this is sort of offensive.
people don't say "you bet!" anywhere else? i find that hard to believe. i've seen it on tv all the time. i've also actually heard "you betcha" on tv all the time as a joke. i dont know anyone who says it. its gramatically incorrect and low class no matter where you're from.
haha its stupid funny..like
