*thumbs up* I love it man! hehe I always wanted to do one of those conversions..I've seen a ton of those (converted) and each one's a lil different. Kick ass meng! ; )
nice bike, im trying to make my own, i was wondering where did ya buy your jackshaft? all i can find are the ones for little mini bike chains, need help, thanx a ton, Barry
I had 2 of those, loved them, then one day, I thought, 2 wheels, would be great, which brought me to fatcats, then, theres a guy out midwest, who makes a kit for the 250 only. But, I luv those 200s. I say, if a jap company comes out with these, they would sell. Great in mud, etc. Nice job. I'll buy 2, come see ya, lol
Well, I think that is beautiful. The introduction of the exposed extra "layshaft" is so neatly done! It would be fun to see a video of you taking it over some more challenging terrain, low, grassy dunes perhaps...
This is one of the nicest mods I've seen. What page on oldminibikes are your photos. I have a 200s that I've had for 10 years in excellent shape and would like to modify mine as well. Thanks for now. Kevin
@NP535overdrive its original and what he did he needs to fix and know they are not all over they are getting destroyed everyday people just dont care and take pride in there things anymore
12 people are just jealous! I love it! I thought making my mini chopper was cool but this is hands down better!!! I'd love to see how it would handle in the woods, mud, and especially sand! That's a beast for sure. Post up a vid of it offroading some time.
@rarebikes88 its not hard thats i get most if my stuff becouse when ever i buy something brander it always shits on me so i make almosteverything i got.
@rarebikes88 I picked up a 200s last oct2011.. I like it so much that i'm gonna look for another one this spring 2012 and i might just look you up to see if you can convert that one for me, I'm in traverse city, mi.... would u be interested in that?
me and my dad did something somewhat similar, we started with the same 3 wheeler but we went the other way we converted it to a 4 wheeler instead, we built it like 4 years ago and sold it but the guy still rides it and wants my dad to build him another one lol
Far Freaking Out Man! I got a 200s thats giving me nothing but trouble and I tell you the oxy-acetelyne torches are starting to look pretty tempting. Maybe I should just fit a Sportster engine in it.
@1Fordzillify1 It was a project i was thinking of for awhile and it did go through a couple of changes in plans, but was it worth it? HELL YEAH!!!! I would do it again anytime.
That is really cool what you did dude. if you where to put plastic side panels on and a nicer seat, (one less homemade looking) Maybe consider getting a front fender and incorporate that into a back fender? I would buy one :)
All manufactures in the 80's should have did this with all there 3-wheelers until the ten year ban was lifted and then produced the 3-wheeler again. I like the 4-wheeler but I started on a trick and then they band them because it was not safe, it was very upsetting :(
You say it takes about 5 mins to learn to turn the big tires. Did you ever try turning a Yamaha BW200? It was a nightmare. In fact, the BW handled so badly, they discontinued them. But I always wondered which part of the design was to blame. Watching you ride, yours doesn’t seem nearly as bad. So I suspect the BW problem was either the mismatched wheels/tires or the front fork’s degree of rake and trail (BW’s were much more “chopped”). Can you comment?
@zhuliu I have a 1986 Big Wheel and it is the angle of the seat that gives the rider a bad feel riding. I find if you sit on the back part of the seat you slide right back down and crunches your family...... These bikes where not designed to go fast, they are a back trail rider that will get you where you want to go at a nice steady pas. They have lots of torque at low gear for climbing and will do around 60-70 miles in 5th. gear. Three wheelers are the same way unless you go 200X,250R,350R
That's a cool setup. I have an 84 200S that my dad bought me in brand new in 1984. It runs great. It's in great condition after all these years. Your bike is awesome! Keep creating! Screw the negativity. Kudos to you.
@aaronrister DONT TELL HIM ITS GOTTA GO THATS HOW HONDA BUILT THE BIG REDS AND THATS JUST WHAT IT IS INSTEAD OF THREE WHEELS PROPS ON THE TWO. I BET ITS ALOT OF FUN ON TRAILS.
reminds me of a Honda fat cat or Yamaha big wheel. i,d put a smaller sprocket on the back though. by the time u touch the gas in 1st its already wound up and your only doin like 8mph. but its still SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice man that things a monster! Dont listen to that other guy if honda watches this they might take it as a million dollar idea or something. Dont ever stop making stuff like this!
@cookiesyum23 I really dont listen to the negative coments becauase there are so many nice ones! I am allways building something cool! Keep watching. thanks again!
That is one of the most creative builds I've seen in along time, it looks right and not like a hack job, not to mention it's just BAS ASS!!!. You should patent that and start selling it as a conversion kit. I would buy one....
Look, I'm not trying to insult your creativity! Honda made something lime this before and they did not sell! We have four wheelers today, because of what three wheelers have done! Merry Christmas to you as well.
And as far as riding in the snow, depending on how deep, I've never had any issues in the snow! Don't tell me that was better in the snow the a three wheeler! And to distroy another one these days, well that says enough!
@ahill7866 I will continue to destroy and build what ever i want, I dont expect you to understand. What have you built in your life? I bet if you were paid a million dollars you could build anything as cool or sturdy as this bike. I didnt care if anyone else liked it. I didnt build it for you, did I? Ready all the other comments and see how many people like it. And because you say it sucks im supposed to feel bad? really who do you think you are?
Sorry, I think it looks stupid! These three wheelers are becoming a rare item and to take one and cut it up to build this, why? I just don't get it! What would you do with it and who would buy it, when your done. I have boughten 4 three wheelers in the last year and I see them going up in value to to collectors and people who want to restore them.
@ahill7866 sorry you feel that way , but You dont know what i would do with it? Ah? I rode the hell ut of it enjoyed it and yes i did sell it, not becuase i wanted to but because i met a guy who couldnt live with out it. He offered me crazy money and i couldnd pass it up, i will build anther, 3 wheelers are ok, but they suck in the snow. This bike in the snow was like no other. I really dont care if they are collectable, if you cant ride and enjoy them they arent worth a thing to me!
@123maxence321 Really? I didnt make it to be pretty, but it will go through and up a brick wall! Why dont you stick to shooting arrows in the air and being 12 years old! Let the adults handle the big toys!
Can I aks what gearing you used on your sprockets? Also can you tighten the chain? Or does that roller do that? Thanks for the info. I am starting one of the mods myself.
@theboredredneck Ok i think the 3 wheeler was 150, the rear axel and bearings sprocket and pillow bearings i think i had 150 into, the seat was 60, and some other minor stuff i mabey have 400 into it?
sir you just gave me and inspiration, why didn't i think of this. i had a yamaha dx 250 that ran fine but didn't have the ass end of it. Sadly it was shaft driven, but maybe i could get it back see if i can find a motorbike swayarm shaft driven or a converter to chain drive deal. that is awesome. I would gear that for high speed. My Honda 80's geared up to do 55mph top end, my homemade scooter is geared up goin probably 40 to 45 with a little honda 5hrs lawn engine. 200cc will really pull though
dude i love that bike. reminds me of my little 196cc baja warrior bike, fat tires and all. you are a genuis! ill sub if you make more vids of this bike in action!
this is an awesome idea! i am very impressed at how clean of a job it is. looks great man. now its got me thinking.... i have an 84 honda 200s that has a bent rear axel and the rings are going so maybe ill turn it into something like this...
I was kinda mad when you said you cut up a perfectly good three wheeler, but After I saw how awesome it is as a bike i probly would of done the same thing, lol.
hello there, First I will say, nice build! My dad built one of these also there great! The way that my dad built his is he used the the jack shaft as the pivot for the swing arm as well, so you have bearings in the front end of the swing arm and in the frame with some 3/4" shaft all the way through that way your chain is always the same tension no matter where the swin arm is. just an Idea

My Honda 80's geared up to do 55mph top end, my homemade scooter is geared up goin probably 40 to 45 with a little honda 5hrs lawn engine. 200cc will really pull though

Very cool. I've seen 3 wheelers turned into four, but not 3 into 2. Looks like it rides out nice. Well done!

hello there, First I will say, nice build!
