  • why dont you show how to play or learn to play instead of simply playing??

    Anyway, It is great.

  • @Sentenciame Doug has a website called Sizzling Guitar. ALL he does is teach. He is one of a kind. Check out the site. There are free videos and as one who has bought several of his DVD's they are incredibly informative. I have learned more from him than any of the Lesson DVD's that I have, barring Redd Volkaert.

  • how long have you been playing?

  • u mean 7 :3

  • Holy crap my fingers cramped and tied in knots just watchin! AMAZING talent!!!

  • Love the country licks!! Those pick and finger pick style.

  • Doug- You blow me AWAY!...I would say you're "showing off", but when you're THIS good, you ain't bragging!..You are incredibly talented- Chicken-pickin, Jazzy, the lesson on Playing in Major Scales, even if song is in E minor(CAN'T FIND THAT LESSON!), and now, this BLUES stuff- You're killin' me!.. No, really, it's ALL inspirational. Thanks, Doug!

  • I'm mostly into alternative and metal but I love the country!!!!! That's some technical stuff. It would give headache learningi it but I ill have to give it a go.Love your work :)

  • the whole vid kicks ass...but startin at 519...its so BEAUTIFUL...amazing man

  • Excellent!

  • How can you not like this? Nice work man!

  • I really liked it you should post some videos that are just your guitar not the drums and bass :)

  • That Tele is twanging like a son of a bitch!

  • lol..... sweet music to my ears peepz, if you dont enjoy it keep it to yourself, post in that you like it. Doug the man on the git......

  • lol..... sweet music to my ears peepz, if you dont enjoy it keep it to yourself, post in that you like it. Doug the man on the git......

  • Cool

  • Now there`s nothing wrong with country licks in rock or blues of course, nor the other way around. In fact, any scale usage in any song can work and its been done for years but when it sounds like its being forced on the song it destroys the characteristics of the song. Anyway, no hard feelings, just an opinion.

  • This guy can play theres no doubt. B u t... It seems a bit boring at times and its like theres a serious clash of styles. Its like he`s maybe trying too hard to incorporate the country licks in the blues and vice versa. I know a few guitarists who have the same problem but they`ve actually made the necessary adjustments once they realized playing an instrument is best coming from a direct line from your gut, NOT trying to play all you know in every song but playing what each song needs.

  • great job !

  • 5 people are dyslexic and hit the wrong button on accident. All the stuff this guy plays is really tasteful and well played.

  • How do you receive the backing track for this video ?

    lesyocum.com

  • I've got to get this DVD. Been looking to add some country licks to my playing. May as well learn from one of the best.

Great playing, Doug. Keep it up.

  • How to get a country tone, take a shit on your amplifier :D

  • @Mrflashdrive NO, that's how you give birth to heavy metal sound, but you have to mix some piss and puke with it! :-)

  • W-O-W

  • 1:37 sickk!!!!

  • Thank you so much! Great, and excellent backing track (0:32), man i love the drums! (and the guitar ofcorse!)

  • Your tone around 2:08 or so is slick man, your an excellent guitarist!

  • Doug! So Fn Hot!! I just ran across you today and I am so flippin impressed! want to hear the killer thing .... i don't even play. i can barely play my stereo! i did share you with my nephew and my whole FB fan base .... all 130 of them!! hoping you all the success you deserve and then about 2 months more than that! I really appreciate how you are running your business. Keep up the good stuff Man!

  • Okay! There are two players I take all my teaching from.. Brad Paisley and Doug Seven. Cant decide which one is better.

  • Doug ... which of your videos covers some of your blues playing? Your blues playing on this clip is amazing. Love the other stuff as well.

  • dam thats some seriously smokin guitar work!

  • It's hard to believe my guitar can produce this, but, I can't make it.

  • The world isn't ready for Doug Eight.

I'd pay a lot to see you in a guitar duel with a young Merle Travis.

  • @TehGav or brad paisley

  • My god this man can play. I don't understand how the brain can process that many notes. Absolutely tasteful playing as well. He must have been born with that tele in his hands.

  • @MrRockmeister1 It ain't in the brain...... that's 100% soul

  • amazing guitar player and wa a tone

  • love it sow much

  • Monster. What a talent.

  • Just love D7's subtle nods to J. Beck. Such an awesome hybrid of styles that's he's made his own. Hat's off to you D7!!

Vraiment un bon son et un bon jeu!!

  • awesome stuff

  • anyone know the spec of the guitar?

  • @terryt1988 It has a B-Bender aswell.

  • 5:13... Holy crap that was beautiful.. :')

  • You ROCK!!! I wish I could play like you.

  • FANTASTIC!!,

  • This is modern country not country blues that is a completely different thing aka charlie patton , robert johnson now that is country blues but you sound great very good . real country blues is played on acoustic with fingers only and the thumb keeps the bass line going no matter what , a real country bluesman needs no band., but im not taking from your talent which is amazing just clarifying the difference from country and country blues.

  • The person with the drums is really good on keep up with the beat! I give his respect too. Y'all are good have to love the beat of music!

  • Guitar playing is amazing. Snare drum is annoying.

  • I can't see him using his finger + pick but on some of this he has to be.

  • This is flippin awesome!

  • 3:48 ... 3:51 is pretty... What chords was used? 11? 13?

  • Holy COW!!!!!!!!

  • Doug less drum snare and more guitar in your mixes.. Thanks

  • @callasexperience I honestly think the snare is perfect. It kindof provides the drive for the music he's playing.

  • m8 are there tabs for 5:15 till 6:50 cuz thts freaking epic i wanna be able to play tht aswell

  • The interval, triad, and three-note chord ideas are the best!

  • The blues stuff between 3:00 and 3:58 is just amazing.

  • Thanks for that teaser Doug, I think there's a mutual agreement here; your an awsome guitarist, I could listen for hours! Good on ya!

  • 7:26 - 7:29 just blew my mind!!!

  • Whoever the one person is who disliked this is most probably a failed guitarist.

  • This guy has the goods. I have no idea why he's still hanging around in Ohio. He needs to pick up the tent stakes and head straight to Nashville. Somebody would give him a blank check. I've watched a lot of Doug's videos and am in the process of working through his lessons. Doug Seven is a one-take player. When he's playing casually in the video, he just doesn't make any mistakes! And his personality seems like he's a real down to earth, grounded person. I've been truly inspired by this cat.

  • Doug, I live in Nashville where there are THOUSANDS of great guitar players, but you are truly one of the best I have ever heard, regardless of what genre you play (Paisley, Vince Gill, SR Vaughn, etc.). Thanks for sharing any shortcuts or practice drills although most of us could practice 20 hours a day for 20 years and not be half that good.. If you have'nt.done so already, you need to pack your bags and come down and be a session player..REMARKABLE !!!!!

  • This guys got big balls...

  • So precise! Every note seems perfectly crafted...so inspiring to see someone in CONTROL :D.

  • Bad Motherf^&*(r!

  • Man, those are some serious chops!

  • man that tone is sweet !!!

  • I've been playing for over forty years now.

I think I'll burn my guitar for some heat in the fall when it starts to get cold . . .

  • muito bom!

    very good!

  • I need a CD with like, 9 hours of this on it....

  • gobsmacking! I can't believe how incredibly musical, gutsy, tender and technical your playing is - and what range! No kidding, you're one of the greatest guitarists in the world. Phenomenal.

  • 7:22 to 7:30 is the best man!! You Rock!! A Hello From Barretos , Brazil!!

  • cool man!

  • Nice sound. I like the hint of Satriani/Vai type bends and slides that you throw in on the blues stuff. You must of been an 80's rocker at some point.

  • He looks like a skinny Cable Guy....God i hate country music

  • Wow! You are one of the most expressive and innovative players I've heard in a long time. Thanks for taking the time to show us mere mortals how it's done!

  • Luv it { : )

  • What a refined and honed technique. All the tricks perfectly performed, plus a deep musicality informing all the licks and ideas. One of the best I'd say.

  • pure awesomness !

  • MaN, you are fucking awsome!!!

    going to favorites!

also this is the guitar a want to buy. Fender Telecaster Standard black with white pickguard. is that your guitar??? American Fender Telecaster Standard?

  • RESPECT GOD

  • @joeme23 WTF????

  • it's hard work

  • amigo eres sorprendente y por cierto buena telecaster

  • Rolling, fluid melody. Brilliant

  • dude! you are a legit guitar hero!

  • whow hes fast

  • what is the back track name of the song that starts at 5:14

  • I do know that he is using his neck pickup which most Country players do not use often enough - and it is a nice example of subtle B Bender work.

The tune probably has no name - it is probably provided as a backing track on his new "Circle" series.

7 is a better guitar player than I thought, and I already though he was on of the top 10 in the genre.

  • DAMN

  • Doug, you are an amazing guitar player! I've been playing for along time and I come from more of a rock background, but I have a lot of respect for country and blues style playing and you are top notch!

  • This guy R O C K S !!!
