Rachel Aliene Corrie was an American member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). She was crushed to death in the Gaza Strip by an Israel Defence Forces (IDF) bulldozer .We love you ! RIP Rachel.
Rachel Corrie died for supporting Palestinians who celebrated when 3,000 Americans were BLOWN up by 19 Muslim Hijackers.
Died for supporting Palestinians who STRAP BOMBS on to their LITTLE BOYS AND GIRLS and send them off to BLOW UP people while they eat pizza, celebrate at weddings and birthdays.
Corrie died for Palestinian Muslims who follow the Quran that teaches that a husband should beat his wife when she is not obeying him
Died for Palestinians who are stuck in their own victimhood

Rachel was a stupid little lefty flagburner from Olympia WA, home of Evergreen College which turns out brainwashed America haters. Her parents are activist lawers who make their money by suing everyone for everything. They even tried to sue caterpillar. Her local followers are closet nazis who leave anti semitic graffiti wherever they meet. She got her dumb ass killed so now she's a martyr for the Oly dreadlock and patchouli crowd. The normal locals don't think much of her or her parents.
The Corries are not lawyers. People who meet about human rights issues are not closet Nazis. Caterpillar most likely violated US export law because they knew that the equipment they were selling was being used for the criminal denial of human rights. Its like selling a gun to a bank robber.

Anyone stupid enough to stand in front of a moving bulldozer deserves what the get- not martyrdom. If you want to protest something that's your choice, but Rachel was fucking stupid.
The bulldozers and protesters had been playing this cat and mouse game for hours that day- and many days before. That day, like several preceding, she and other ISM volunteers worked to stop the destruction of Palestinian property and civilian infrastructure. None of the volunteers intended or hoped to die.
You are a fucking idiot. This is exactly why people strap on bombs because if you peacefully protest in Israel they kill you dumbass. Rachels' death during a peaceful protest should have let the world see how the Zionist assholes treat peaceful protest. Instead our main stream media put it on the back pages and you are a low life scum for denigrating someone with more bravery in their pinky then you have in your whole body. Why don't you Google USS Liberty and find out about our allies in Israel
She is an amazingly brave woman, she will never be forgotten, may God send peace upon her soul. She represents pure love & truth, what God wanted us to live by and she is a princess in Heaven now.
She was a nut. If you cannot understand how to change politics in America, then the same can be said for you. Why aren't you there if you feel "so strongly" about the issue???
Was the Captain in the Marine Corps in Lebanon a nut when he stood in front of an Israeli tank armed with a 45 cal. pistol or was he brave? The only reason he didn't get run over was the tank commander was afraid of an international incident. Then we could wake up and stop sending these idiots billions of tax payer dollars every year while they spy on us. The Israelis truly have to be the worst allies ever. Every time a US President leaves office he is lobbied to free their spies. AIPAC outof US
Nope, she died in obscurity. I hate to say it, but outside of Olympia and Washington State no one has really heard of her. And where are these Palestinian voices heard so loudly?
You try and sweeten up what happened with your righteousness, but the reality is that nothing has changed!
Bravery? You mean ignorance? Look where her ignorance got her. To move out of the way and find another route to achieve the goals she desired could have been considered brave. Humility? Look where that got her!
Wow, you're mean, so you must be right. There's not a book of her writing (ISBN 978-0-393-06571-8) published and there wasn't a play performed in dozens and dozens of theatres on every continent except Antarctica. (ISBN# 978-0822222224) And musicians like Patti Smith and Billy Bragg who wrote songs about her are relatively unknown outside of Olympia.
Yeah and look at all the good that has come from us talking about her cause, from all the talking that we've done, lot's of talking, what has come from all the talking about her cause? Nothing!
Pull your head out and realize that just because you stand for something doesn't mean you'll make the least bit of difference. As hard as you may try the chances that you'll die in obscurity are very very good!
The IDF could only wish she died in obscurity. Her humility and bravery are what we honor. She stood for something without the expectation of starting a world movement. But, Rachel's story has set in motion many series of events that have brought many Palestinian voices directly to Americans and others around the world. Rachel's death has become a touchstone and has created a common lexicon between peoples struggling against the odds to find common ground.

No one has explained why the bitch didn't simply get out of the way. No one has explained why her "friends" just stood there and watched her get run over.
She didn't get out of the way because she was protecting the lives of the innocent family inside the house. Because the D9 was loaded with cameras, and knew that she was clearly visible, she didn't think the bulldozer, manned by a driver and a commander would deliberately run her over.
so we should sympathize because she stood in front of the bulldozer? let me ask why didnt she fight for womens rights in the mid east? she chose to be radical for those fighting over a piece of crappy land? but screw women who are forced to cover, treated worse than any animal and well have zero rights of their existence? yea that was bright of her, and yet we are suppose to be sad she stood in front of a bulldozer? please..when will you so called non working nut wad activists get a grip?
We should sympathize because she physically stood to guard the lives of women (rights of women to live and dress as they please) and their children whom were about to be made to be made homeless, or possibly be injured or killed as happens regularly during such operations.
She entered an area where Israeli forces were carrying out a military operation.
She was not demonstrating for peace, she was interfering with a military operation to legally demolish an empty house used to conceal terrorists. Her death is no more tragic than the deaths of other young people who died in bombings committed by Palestinian terrorists. At least she made her choice. Palestinian terrorists didn't give the young people killed in their bombings any choice in their deaths.
You have your facts wrong, serg441. The house was not empty- there were two families inside- not terrorists or tunnels.
When you spread these lies, it makes it difficult to discuss the real issues. Yes, terrorists from Palestine have killed innocent people. That was wrong. It was also wrong for the IDF to destroy 12,000 Palestinian homes. Rachel was a hero who resisted non-violently. If you are against the violence of bombings, why speak out against non-violent resistance?
I suggest you read the official reports that say that the witnesses stories did not match and were not credible....this is not from Israel's report its the official report. what about the other Rachels from Israel who also died within months of Corrie? No one has martyred them! Face it Ism has no credibility and niether do you. Her death was tradgic but not murder!
The accounts are credible because I talked to the witnesses myself. I know these people. The reason Rachel is a martyr is that she was actively engaged in non-violent resistance- an act of bravery whose purpose was to save a family from being crushed in their own home by a bulldozer. Rachel, and the rest of ISM and I aspire for swift and just peace in the region and safety for Israelis and Palestinians.
Regarding Saint Pancake: As a person who believes in the truth, it annoys me when people say that Rachel Corrie was a supporter of non-violence. If you read her letters, you will see she never advocated non-violence in palestine, she never encouraged hamas or hezbollah from blowing up high schools, in fact she actively praised palestinian violence as being "understandable" and even "justified". Go READ HER LETTERS...THE ONES PUBLISHED IN THE BRITISH NEWSPAPERS.
This name-calling is unacceptable, but I'll leave this comment because it addresses a good point. Yes go to rachelswords dot org to read what she wrote. Then you will see that the above poster is in error.
She was acting non-violently when standing in front of the D9. The Pals in the house were too.
Many in the world feel that when one invades your home, you are justified to defend it with violence. Rachel was wrestling with what she was witnessing.
Tom get a life will you. You are part of the problem.
All you arm chair warriors who sit back and say its okay to kill and massacre as long as its them and not US.. You would be the first to cry and call for yur mama
The ISM claimed that the only contact it had with the suicide bombers "was a brief social encounter" at an ISM apartment in Rafah. However, five days before the Tel Aviv bombing, the bombers were photographed attending an ISM memorial service in Rafah for Rachel Corrie.
Thanks for for clarifying that. Yes, the bombers were part of a larger group of travelers who went to the ISM office and had attended a public ceremony. ISM did not invite them, nor did they hold any affiliation with ISM. ISM has condemned their actions loudly.
I am not a suicide bomber. I am not a terrorist. But it seems to me just possible that the former are people driven by frustration to an awful extreme. Frustration that NOTHING else works, so why not try this? (Add a pinch of "Life's not much worth living, anyway...")
Rachel Corrie was Working with the Ism a group known to harbor and aid terrorists. She died protecting tunnels and a house that were emty. She sat down in the blind spot of a Bulldozer's path and was run over..this was unfortunate but you all cry for Rachel Corrie when she died protecting tunnels that the palestinians used to smuggle suicide bombers and arms in order to kill Israeli citizens.
Actually, you are incorrect. There were men women and children in the home she defended. I know that's true because I met them, and know them. They traveled to the US to speak about peace, and had to go to Tel Aviv to get paperwork before the trip. Israel runs a pretty tight ship- they would not allow terrorists or those with tunnels to travel from Gaza and fly to the United States for a few weeks. I suggest that you get your facts straight before posting such nonsense.
Rachel loudly denounced terror as a tactic. Your accusation is incorrect. Seven US and UK citizens witnessed the killing. Plus, several Palestinians saw it happen. I personally know 4 eyewitnesses- they're not liars or terrorists.
if u consider u a humainbeing u must be dreaming think about that what u know about teroresime u and what u know about palstine and israel u absolotely wrong u have to make an effort to know the truth as rachelle she was brave than u she is angel
When she died, the 2nd intafada or Palestinain terror war against Israel was in its 3rd year. Of the approx 1,700 Arabs who had died in the violence up to that time, 53 % were combatants, another 13 % Pal's killed by other Pal's. But of the 650 Israeli dead, 78 % were civilians. The side deliberately targeting non-combatants --a war crime, not what Corrie, echoing ISM, called "resistance"--was the Palestinian. I know what she was doing, who was paying for it she was a dupe not an angel.
I'm glad that you raise the question of the larger context. The illegal occupation of Palestinian land is an asymmetric conflict where the aggressors have a modern military funded by $5+ billion of US taxpayers' cash annually. The Palestinians are encircled by a barrier wall and suffer daily attacks by the IDF. The brutality in the past year has been particularly egregious in Gaza.
Brave is the word. Clever are the manipulators who have no morals and use "cleverness" to bulldoze over anyone who protests the wrongs they do..............Amen
pretty sick comment, it's not appreciated whatsoever. who ever deserves this sort of death? especially a young, courageous woman who dedicated her life to peaceful solutions for palestine AND israel.

She is certainly not a heroine but merely a pawn of a radical Arab media assault on ignorant youth.

Where is this mythical "palestine" you speak of??
iluvmyb3 4 years ago
UN mandate is recognized by most of the world. It would probably surprise millions of Palestinians that they were living in a mythical place.

An Angel who decided to argue with a bulldozer. Very clever...
