  • Absolutely hilarious I love it lol. Chevettes take a HUGE beating as a yard car.

  • Yea i owned several magnums and had the same problem...clutch cables, they would break regularly, had to drive home crashing the gears, not cool!

  • I owned a 1980 bought it new in 1979 it did not come with a radio and was a 5 speed

and one common problem was I had to carry a clutch cable and vice grip. I t would break in the most worse times. One other problem it would not stop on wet pavment even with new tires!

  • you could use a new set of hubcaps [; they really top off the look of the car IMO.

  • "disc and drum breaks" ... LMAO

  • I remember when these cars first came out. With a name like Chevette I was expecting a cross between a Chevelle and a Corvette

  • I had a red '79 Chevette too. This video is a great homage to a fantastic little car even the video is a little tongue and cheek.

  • Has anyone bought this Chevette before.

  • I have a 1983 chevette with a EFI 4.3v6 in it....and its stupid..

  • @HomeE95 lmao @ stupid whats it get for fuel mileage ?

  • Fagggggg

  • I had a 79. It was a great workhorse. I hauled all sorts of stuff in it after replacing the rear springs with those from a pickup truck.

  • @thegoosebrain i got an 81 chevette from my grandma she paid 50 buks for it cause the owners couldnt get it running . it needed a new timing belt and a starter cause they burned the starter up trying to get it running bot my dad and uncle worked on it with another 50 buks later it was running . we drove it for about 8 years between me and her the she sold it to a friend of mine and they drove it for another 4 years and had to replace the timimg belt and starter when they had it

  • @compwiz878 and when they sold it it was still running realy good but the body was shot thou they even put coils springs from a 1972 ford grand torino they where weak under the tourino but they realy jacked the rear of the chevette up realy nicely . when they sold it it was drivin away good drive train bad body it was automatic

  • Your damn right its the sexiest sportscar ever. I Fucking loved my Chevette. God damn I miss it.....

  • Love you guys-33 lol

  • Love the vid - great job on it!

  • Well, at least the driver is hot.

  • My dad had one of these. The gas gauge broke so he had to clock it on the odometer. But it got 30/35mpg (city/highway) or thereabout which as totally amazing as of 1985 too.

  • @shred5 yeas you could fill it up and drive for a few days b4 another fill up was needed very easy on gas i had an 87 chrystler lebaron gts that got 40 mpg with a stock 2.2 ltr in it with auto

  • I loved mine.

  • You did an awesome job! Beyond hilarious. I really do appreciate the production quality. It shows it's also a rugged car, but stylish at the same time.Genious. I had to show my dad cuz he said he had one in college that never ran. He drives Honda now...lol.

  • I don't know what's worse. This or the Dodge Neon. #LOL

  • it didnt explode?!?!?!

  • true american muscle. i luv it bro!

  • I really want a chevette now

  • I sold my 1982 Chevette yesterday. I drove it for 6 years. I miss it so much!!!! I cried when i saw it pull out of the drive way and down the street. :'(

  • My family had three of these cars, one being a Pontiac Acadian, and they were all biodegradeable. Not sure why, but the metal in them didn't last long. My Dad's was special. The passenger seat fell through the floor on the expressway, so he fixed it by putting a board across the rupture in the floor, and bolting a 77 Chevette seat (not matching) inside. It had vise grips for window cranks and the radio, when turned on, broadcasted the engine instead of music on most stations.

  • ill sell my mine for $1700, has a two tone paint job, baby blue top and bottom half white interior baby blue as well and fair. original 60,567. heater and air don't work, as i got it but fans fine. body and interior and paint are fair for its year. I'm a teenager i just don't like the car. and want to buy a new car, just reply. Thank You!

  • I Own a 1979 Chevette My first car as of now original 60,564

  • So, whats your number?

  • drop a 383 stroker in and swap the gears in the rear for some 4.10's and a detroit locker.

  • A chevette is a good, dependable car and the 86 we had with a shift kit did wonders.

  • hell ay my first car was a 86 chevette . grate vid!

  • unfortunately, the sexyness of the chevette doe not make up for your haircut.

  • ROFLMAO! Great video paroday!

  • Great Video!!! LOL

  • These were GREAT cars as long as they never were sold to the American public.

  • 420 lol

  • I can't say I would call it "sexy", but it's not bad looking.

  • Best joke in the world for the Chevette driver: 'I have a 'Vette', 'Corvette? Wow thats cool'. 'No a Chevette'. Laughs all around.

  • drop a chev 305 in it and it would probably still haul ass..

  • @leafsrule16 hell yes it would all power lol theres no weight to the chevette

  • freakin' awesome! we had one of these beaters when i was a kid. we beat the living crap out of it. took it off a few jumps, tons of burnouts and broadies... never stopped. can't hurt it.

  • @doferty i can agree with taht ive done the same to my old 81 i had took off road a few time just to go hit up some fishing holes and didnt get stuck it was also a tank in the snow to i think the rear end was doctored up put some good snow tires on the rear and go any where with no probs and it had a realy good heater to to the point u had to run it on low and put a window or 2 down

  • fuck chevettes r awesome i own a 1978 my first car its a fuckin good reliable car the grill on the 1978 chevettes r ugly tho

  • @lupa186 my first car was a 1981 chevette. great car

  • loved it

  • Hell yeah! I WILL have another some day. Thumbs up on the Dodge 360 idea. $420...lol.

  • Haha not as sexy as a Dodge Colt

  • Hey my friend i liked the video though it was kool seems real you da man

  • talk about laying it on thick i had 2 of them a 79 and an 82 both had tough rock solid engines but as far the rest a few mods and your all set but a stock chevette they were another peice a shit gm car when you produce cars like that and had very cheap coil springs shocks and no good for nothing brakes you get a company like Gm paving the way for asians to prove there cars are superior and in the end you killed american cars lol

  • LOL, that was the best 70's car commercial spoof ever! even the production quality was the same!

I bet a hundred bucks if you had showed this to people back then they'df have believed it was a real one.

  • esa mamada... its a shed

  • is it relly for sale ? lol $450

  • Damn that should be called the Chickvette, 'cause it like, gets the chicks.. ..and.. ..stuff

    Diggin that 70s porn music!

  • lol great work on the video man.

  • AWESOME video man.... and LOVE the pink hair!!

  • And like every purist sports car, it's rear wheel drive! None of that namby-pamby front wheel drive crap.

  • Chevette en origen es un Opel Kadett modelo C

  • great cars. i had a 78. i just wish you could hear the voice better over the music. what i could hear was funny.

  • used to cruise a '78 then we got an upgrade to an '81 talk about a real luxury those cars are excellent for pulling the emergency brake for a little old school drifting before anyone knew what drifting was. especially on a rainy day

  • a v8 and some IROC Z rims would do wonders.

  • haha what a great car

  • this is one of those cars that a V6 or V8 swap would do wonders.

  • I want to drop a Dodge 360 in there!

  • @the13joker ive seen and drivin both 2.8 s10 v6 and a 4.3 tbi v6 in a chevette ive gotta say what a wild ride it was all power and speed mixed but ive also rode in a 350 v8 in a chevette now that was a realy wild ride it had willey bars on the rear with traction bars to it was used for 1/4 mile drag strip but the 2.8 and 4.3 v6 versions where daily drivers o i mean sleepers lol

  • @compwiz878 cool man !

  • that car is pretty damn nice. the black steel alloy rims really set it off. not to mention the BMW-like styling.

  • LMAO.. You did some good work on this video.. I remember those cars like yesterday. They were good cars as long as you kept them out of the salt. I still see one on the road every once in a while now that I live in the south (where there was no salt to annihilate the strut towers and undercarriage..)

  • The salt is really what is killing me. It's later and I have the car now. I need to weld a new floor pan and also in many places where the salt did kill it. Do you know of anyone doing a weld job on that? I'm attempting it on this same car in a week or so. Excited to have it as my car when I turn sixteen!

  • nothing said in this video is true. i have an 84 and its worse then the one portrayed. :(

  • The point is not to be accurate. This is a parody. And believe me, the attractive earth tone styling is not a lie. This car is friggin sexy

  • Absolutely! This car is so HOT!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • rack and pinion steering, disc and drum brakes----OMGLMFAO----5/5Fav

  • $420 ha

  • Kudos....you got talent for this line of work!!

  • This video makes me want one, lol. Not as an everyday driver, but something I could modify relatively inexpensively. A rear wheel drive car that size has to be fun as hell.....

  • LOL

  • I had a car just like this I drove in high school-early nineties that my grandpa bought new. 4 door, automatic with a/c. The thing was slow as crap but sipped gas. I will say, it was trustworthy, though. RIP, Chevette. Thanks for posting.

  • Wow...I didn't think there were any Shovettes left. ;D Hated working on those cars.

  • that was hilarious!!!!!!!

  • Holy crap.... LMAO that was great brings back fond memories of my 82 diesel chevette haha!!!

  • The 1981 Brazilian Chevrolet Chevette S/R, light and FR, is used on Drags by replacing the 1.6 SOHC engine by an 250 6 cylinder from the Chevy Opala (Opel Reckord) or by an 1.6 16V DOHC ECOTEC from the Chevy Tigra. It's also used on drifts

It's compared here to the Toyota AE86, and, in my opinion it's the Best Chevette ever launched.

If I lived in US, I would have bought an American Chevette already.

  • @vitorlcl yeah a 250 cui il6 would be a nice engine for the chevette but ive drivine a 2.8 v6 from a chevey s10 pickup truck yeas the 2.8 v6 was used in the camaros to but this was outta truck also drove a 4.3 v6 efi in a chevette they both where realy sleepers and daily drivers

  • VERY VERY well done! LMAO!

  • Are you still selling this car? I'll buy it! The first car I ever had was a 1979 Chevette! I had great times in it!

  • something's sexy alright...

  • mine doesnt even off road man

  • dude! this is f*cking funny.
