The first time I saw this I was screaming, "PRINCESS PEACH! GO BACK IN YOUR CASTLE!!!" Then he took the castle. Wow, Bowser did something smart for once.
Mario games need to begin like this. This intro set the mood for the entire game and it's a major reason why this was better than the sequel.
I'm sick of the lame intros, they're so boring. "Oh, there's Mario, oh there's Bowser, oh, Bowser captured the princess." Over and over again. They need to make them more epic like this.
if i was mario i wud hav jus killed bowser by now. always kidnappin his woman. simple way to resolve it mario. go all mafia and shoot bowser up. problem solved.

He send Bowser falling to his death, threw him in lava, threw him at mines and even in this game he send Bowser flying to his own created sun not only burning in the atmosphere but also burning on impact. Bowser is literally INDESTRUCTIVE. Even when Bowser seems dead (Dry Bowser from New Super Mario Bros.) he still fights!
@TheResidentevil101 Honestly I liked the sequel more. There might not have been much storywise but I liked some of the levels more, the fact that Yoshi's in it, some of the power-ups etc. I also liked the Mario Ship. XD But I think the thing that sold it for me was the music. Idk why but I felt the music in MG2 was much more grander. I especially liked the Mario Ship music and how it would built up each time you added more people. If there was one thing I didnt like it was the final battle.
@yari015 I think Super Mario Galaxy is more of a retelling of the first game, just with different levels. It's weird I know but it's still a great game.
my family is gonna wonder why the hell i know so much about this game when ive never played it before (i might get a wii for christmas, so ima get this game) the internet is such a wonderful place just full of information :D
@BowzersBestFriend lol he probably got the UFO from sony or microsoft. you see, they are just as devious as bowser, they know that if one of nintendo's mascots die, nintendo's foundations would crumble. next they plan to give ganondorf a rocket launcher. XD
