Anyone know any good microphones that go well with this camera. Or is the mic in it good enough?

@dand0708 I use a Rode NTG-2 (Around $270). The onboard mic isn't that great but it's pretty doable if you're not looking for focused audio. It captures everything compared to the Rode, a directional mic. I hook up the NTG-2 to a H4N and record it that way.

The Rode Videomic is a cheaper alternative which I used before I purchased the NTG-2.

@edwardcarrillo1 It's in settings then progressive, select 24 or 30. 25 if its a European model.

BTW, why does it record to 1080i when it says HD..is this how all HD camcorders are? I'm looking to get the Panasonic HDC-TM700..is this a full 1080p recording camera or 1080i output even though it records at 1080p?

@THEJEDEYEMASTER HD is just a tag.

720p = 1280 x 720 progressive

1080p = 1920 x 1080 progressive

1080i = 1440 x 1080 interlaced

I don't know anything about that Panasonic, but it should say in the product description of where ever you're getting it.

@persini It records on mini dv tapes but you can get a device to record onto compact flash.
