I bet the 720p progressive frames per second was about 24 to 30. The 480p and 1080i both was at 50 to 60. I honestly believe this test was completely inaccurate.

@vRNemesis he is somewhat right. 1080i is interlaced, better for pictures or minimal screen animation and fast motion. 720p is a progressive scan allowing it to keep up with fast paced movement, such as videogames. Although 1080i is higher resolution and will give crisper images, 720p is generally better from a gameplay standpoint

for some reason 480p looks better then the 720p, maybe it has to do with the fact that you may have a screen that only support 640 × 480 resolution possibly but does not support the 720p entirely which may cause the bit of blurr when you run it at 720p because for me i have a monitor that supports 720p and everything looks great.

most games on ps3 and 360 are not natively 1080p but they support upscaling

For example GTA4 on PS3 is 640p but you can run it at 1080p

and 720p on 360 you can run it at 1080p

Because a game says 1080p on the box doesn't mean that's the native resolution.

Interlaced does NOT split the picture into even and odd stripes. That's what progressive does. Interlaced jus takes that picture how it is. That's why 720p would look better than 1080i if your electronics native resolution is 1080i. And if you have a full HDTV, then don't bother and choose 1080p because it beats everything.

@MrBLACKNINJA510 P is Progressive Scan, and i is Interlaced. Interlaced splits each image into 2 frames, frame 1 would have all the even lines (2 4 6 8+), frame 2 would have all the odd lines (1 3 5 7+).

It's really not a significant difference when in motion. Screen captures will look much worse from the interlaced video however.

PS3 does true 1080p because it has a Blu-Ray player.

The Xbox360 does 1080i but upscales image into 1080p, but it's not true HD unlike the PS3.

The reason for this is that the 360 uses DVD discs.

If MS had integrated the HD-DVD add-on in the first place, the 360 could've displayed true 1080p.

@orlandolr1, 360 does forced 1080; it's not a true pixel for pixel 1080p image, unlike the PS3. A guy named Wip3ou7 did a comparison video to show this. You can type in "360 vs PS3 graphics resolution" in a youtube search and it should be the first video.

If you don't want to sit through the 8 minutes of it, the gist of it is the 360 stretches each pixel to cover about 4 on-screen while PS3 renders 1 to 1.

I JUST got my Hava Wireless HD yesterday and I`ve been messing with the settings, trying to get it to where I want.

If you could please take a look at my video test on MW2 and give me your input.

It`s set to 1080i right now because tech support told me it would be better than 720p.. and trust me, it was.

Also I noticed you can go through a list when in setup for Component settings.

Any device you would recommend, or would it even make a difference ?

All of my more recent videos after this one are recorded with the HD PVR.

depends on what you're watching. 1080i is better in let's say Nat Geo or Discovery, while 720p is better in fast moving shows like a sporting event.

But the best is 1080p which is not yet transmitted by cable channels, but is by xbox 360, ps3 and blue ray. If you get a 1080p TV now, you will benefit in the future.
