The main reason they don't want him to sing is they know it is unlikely that he is a good singer, and it is unpleasant to hear a bad singer. Add to the fact that it is a song about Stargate, and a parody nonetheless, now he has to be three things at once: a good singer, very funny, and not offensive to fans. The audience knew this was unlikely, and they were right! If he had all three of these abilities they wouldn't have cut him off.
