  • thankks >>lots love the weetra firmly

  • I like the version from Buter , Dan Sultan and Missy Higgins more !

  • Scrolling youtube for 5 years. First comment. Settle down folks.

Paul kelly and Kev are about as vegemite as you can get; they are and always will be, i think, the epitome of australian musicianship, and with that everything that the term entails.

Music for the moment though. All styles/all genres; fundamentally what counts is the feeling. If, in the middle of reciting a ballad such as this, you feel like speaking like a bogan or the reincarnation of shakespeare, all the more power to you.

  • I cannot believe they have auto-tuned this version! Don't get me wrong, I love John Butler, but whoever auto-tuned this is a fag. There are far better versions, go find them.

  • this is track I´ve looked for last 3 years ... thank you for addin´

  • What key is this song in?

  • most people know this tune but few know who Kev Carmody is... shame really cause its really an excellent Australian ballad... personally i would say it is the Aboriginal Australian equivilant of the Man from Snowy River... another great ballad/poem. it tells a story, but the real message it conveys is far greater than the words.

  • He butchered it. You dont mess or attempt to cover someone who's an australian Legend.

  • @FelixRaDer85 Well if you had your way most of us would be outta work, darl.

  • A good version of Paul Kelly and Kev Carmody's song. Wave Hill Station was a big part of reconciliation.

  • Was this ever officially released anywhere? I can't find it and i want to buy it. Any help would be appreciated.

  • @NoRest4theWykd Found it!!!!! On the waifs album, Live from the union of soul. 2009.

  • My two favorite musicians playing a great australian song...i cannot thank you enough for putting this up here...

  • Just discovered this video; love the song. What an inspiring story! Thank you!
