  • I never tire of Art Tatum's playing. I enjoy Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, Hank Jones, Fats Waller, Erroll Garner, Nat Cole, Teddy Wilson, and Mary Lou Williams greatly. But I always come home to Tatum! He was and is head and shoulders above the rest. There will never be another like him.

  • Art Tatum did yesterdays with absolute genius as he did every one ...YES EVERY ONE of his recordings...this man truly was from another planet.. the magic between 1:54n and 2:10 has been worked on a copied by every legit jazz pianist.
