In 1985 all I wanted to listen to was Slayer, Metallica, and Judas Priest. All my dad would let me listen to was Stryper. Now all I listen to in Slayer, Metallica, and Judas Priest but I miss my Stryper days sometimes.
God gives you a free will, therefore when he "gives you an order" (mind you that you still have a free will) it's your choice whether to do it or not. but if you are 100% sure that it's God telling you to do something. I'd advise you to do it. Don't forget...Jesus Still loves you even if you are muslim extremist, atheist, or even satan himself. He still loves you. God bless you all (and i mean it)

i am not a religious person but i can't help thinking that Stryper were true to their beliefs though..i mean they obviously had the talent if they would have sung about sex, drugs and rock n roll like the other 80's hard rock/metal bands i feel they would have been a WHOLE lot bigger... they could have sung about sex, drugs and rock n roll but they didn't they had christian lyrics, and even though i'm not religious, i respect them for that

Man, I love Stryper! I don't even care if their a Christian band! I'm pagan, myself (don't criticize my beliefs, and I won't criticize yours), but I spent some of my elementary years in a private school. The teachers always let us listen to Stryper in the library. At the time, I didn't go to church very often, I was just a dude that listened to nothing but Heavy Metal!!! When I first heard this song, I was blown away, thinking, "These guys Rock!!!" So, whether or not I was a Christian, I still would have liked Stryper. But yeah, some people at the time would have not liked them, because they're not like W.A.S.P., Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, etc.

Anytime I hear this album I am floored that they made this in 1985... Then I recall that they made albums one year before and again one year after... all the while on tour the whole time opening concerts for Ratt. So talented and they are even better today! One of the very best live groups ever. Incredible.

I am both a Christian, and a metal fan (Thrash and Death mainly). As such I was curious and willing to give these guys a shot after hearing that they were popular amongst both Christians and mainstream audiences.
I have to admit, I'm less than impressed. Firstly its hair metal, which i dislike entirely. But its not even decent hair. The vocals are... okay, but the music just seems so basic and empty.
Enjoy it if its your thing, but I don't get the appeal.

Anytime I hear this album I am floored that they made this in 1985... Then I recall that they made albums one year before and again one year after... all the while on tour the whole time opening concerts for Ratt. So talented and they are even better today! One of the very best live groups ever. Incredible.

I am both a Christian, and a metal fan (Thrash and Death mainly). As such I was curious and willing to give these guys a shot after hearing that they were popular amongst both Christians and mainstream audiences.
I have to admit, I'm less than impressed. Firstly its hair metal, which i dislike entirely. But its not even decent hair. The vocals are... okay, but the music just seems so basic and empty.
Enjoy it if its your thing, but I don't get the appeal.
Anything more metallica esque?

i always had a vision of armageddon, and these guys heading through to the center of evil in the temple of jeruselem with alll their fans following them to battle... and that styper slays evil with their music.. playing this song while god sends lighning bolts to the guitarists guitars and they zap evil away, fire from the singers voice and earthquakes in the evils barracks from the drums beats... as we all fight for our lives against satans army... and im not even christian O.O lol
