As per your argument, I would agree to an extent (Hitler did not keep his Eastern expansionist agenda a secret; it can be read in Mein Kampf). Hitler, however, would have been driven to war either way, due to pressure from England and the united forces of Western Capitalism -which Stalin was at the time eagerly exploiting to his own advantage.
I'm sick of hearing about Prescott Bush. Large numbers of American financiers also financed the Bolshevik Revolution, as well as the subsequent Soviet Union. Does that all of a sudden make them Marxists? It's called opportunism. If there was any Western capitalist interest in fulfilling the goal of National Socialism our countries would not have united -with the Soviet Union, mind you- to wipe it -along with Fascism- off the face of the earth. Use your brain a little more, Alex Jones.
It's not revisionism. Germany under the Kaiser became a industrial powerhouse over night. By adopting the American economic model. You sir are ruled by the British Empire, the Anglo Dutch banking interests via the Federal Reserve, it is hellbent on Empire expansion through war. They don't give a fuck about you. They don't give a fuck about you. Neocons are a majority of Zionist maniacs. That anti-semite slur has gotten old.My brother is a Marine and he doesn't want to fight or worse for Israel.
Germany did not adopt the American model. There were far stronger parallels between the Four Year Plan and Lenin's NEP, as well as certain aspects of the economy under Stalin. Germany had a regulated economy that was transitioning towards complete nationalization in the areas of large industry/big business (this being a set ideological principle). America, on the other hand, only implemented [somewhat] serious economic regulation for several years under the NRA, until it was disbanded.
My God, we have crossed the rubicon when a liberal like myself agrees with a right-wing nationalist like Pat Buchanan!!!

very smart interview i was laughing really hard when pat was saying how iran had no navy, a bad air force, no missiles, etch.... - "and they are going to destroy the US?"
Makes me 100% right because I've heard him mention wrong informations regarding Middle-East because he hasn't been there. His information is based on neo-conservative views! He calls America an Empire which is not,he ridicules Iran's power & laughs at the thought of "Iran crushing America" while his dollar value drops! He's ignorant about the fact that crushing doesn't only come in the form of bombing.Talks as if he's seen Iran's military &he's sad that Hitler & his "great industry" were stopped!
First of all, Buchanan is not a neocon. He isn't the most free trade either though, some of his policies are pretty protectionary. Iran won't come close to being able to crush America in your lifetime. America may fall, but it will be of her own doing. He points out that the dollar is falling, he's totally right about history, and fairly right about what our future policy should be. No need for all the exclamation points bro. Your english is good, your perception of Buchanan is wrong.
I didn't say he's a Neo-con,I said "His INFORMATION is based on neo-con views" meaning he gets his info from neo-con-controlled sources not personally from the neutral, international sources.Iran is not fighting America but you should know why you're paying $5/gal for gas,300% more for food & dollar is half in value.I watched Buchanan from the time years ago when he regularly made racial,anti-immigrant comments, now he's changed and he's joined the liberals but I still remember the real Pat.
His "anti immigration" comments are always concerning ILLEGAL immigration, so that makes most Americans "anti immigration" I suppose. And he hasn't joined the liberals either. His stance opposing these interventionist wars are the epitome of conservatism.
He works for extra-Liberal MSNBC.If you'd ever been an immigrant trying to move to United States yourself then you'll know why many just run across the border!
Legal visas are not given to many & for others it takes over 12-13 years waiting in long lines plus thousands of dollars of costs. The immigration system is BROKEN. US gov. intentionally lets illegals walk in to keep US lowpay farm/labor jobs filled.
His current stance is why I called him a reformed(60%) but ignorant(40%) conservative.
I can sympathize with those who wish to come here, but that does obligate the US to welcome all comers. A sovereign nation should have the right to determine who can and cannot become a legal citizen, and moreover the will to implement it. We cannot be the boarding house for all who come here. And the only people who should be welcome as citizens are those who want to be Americans, not those whose loyalties lie elsewhere.
Let me make it clearer. I wanted to come here, I was educated, single,a model citizen, ready to contribute to the society. I had just received my Accounting degree. It took me 24 years to become a permanent resident "Legally" ! meanwhile I lost the chance to become a CPA, to get married, to build my life doing an honest work. America is the land of immigrants, the only none-immigrants are "Indians"! the rest are 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants. Who's to say when they should stop coming in?!
Don't think I said they should stop coming in. They should do like you did and do it legally. I'm not even against letting more people in than we do already. We absolutely cannot waive the laws broken by illegal immigrants and say it's ok. I've been an American for eight generations....I think I can stop considering myself an immigrant. Moreover, my family did it legally. You don't think immigration laws were unfair for Italians and Irish? Wanna guess how many people got turned around?
Yes,maybe immigration laws were unfair for the Italians & Irish but that was over 300 years ago.Now we're supposed to be a civilized country where everybody is given equal chance & opportunity.
Legal immigration?Do you think one can afford 24 years of life waiting to enter? & live but not work or be considered a full humanbeing until his retirement age?
I did it but missed everything else.If I could bring the years back I would fly back home the first year & live under our crappy government.
It was not 300 years ago. Late 19th century and early 20th century saw most of that immigration. I know how long it takes to enter legally, and that's all the more reason to dislike those who do it illegally, and screw the system. The legal route is terribly complicated and backlogged, and should be improved, no argument from me.
If you ask me, they have to shoot anyone who crosses any country's border illegally. Because that's no better than spying or stealing, but when the US government allows people to pass the borders and simply drives them back to the border after they get arrested (as if it's a joke) then government should also give them the right to drive, work and be considered a resident.
To summarize my point:
Either shoot anyone illegally crossing the border, or,if you won't,give them rights when they cross.
They have rights, they just don't have the right to stay here or steal my benefits. Just because our government can't or won't secure the borders I'm to pay for them? I don't think so.
If I was the chief, I would either shoot anyone crossing the border or eliminate all borders for good. In today's America, since Mexico's economy is still too weak to totally open all borders I would just shoot all border-crossers and arrest all others who got away and put in prison for 6 months. I'm a legal immigrant and I have no sympathy for cheaters specially when Immigrations laws to give legal visas are so screwed up and the process is so life-draining.
Ok, so it sounds like you agree with Pat at least a little. I wouldn't go so far as to say they should be shot, I don't want to live in East Berlin. Enforcement could/should be tripled/quadrupled though. If they would let the states do it, I'm sure the Texas Guard and California Guard if there is one, could and would help a lot.
Like I said "He's 60% intelligent" so I agree with 60% of what he says :)
The difference between shooting border-crossers in Berlin and here is that in Berlin they also wouldn't allow legal immigration but I'm for fast, easy-process, lowcost legal immigration with strict pre-qualification based on skill, language, background-check, something like Canada. And shoot or imprison the border thieves/drug dealers. After 10 days illegal crossing drops by 95%.
I know, but without a fence or apparent boundary it becomes murky. There are state parks along the border, people get pretty close...you'd have to use imminent domain and confiscate a lot of land.
2 simple 8' fences within 100 yards of eachother with a sign on the first fence that says "You'll get shot beyond this fence unless you're an American border patrol"(in English and Spanish) will definitly be sufficient.
Perhaps that would work, I don't think it would fix the root of the problem which is services for illegals. I guess you agree with Pat on policy, just not his reasoning?
Not really. If the US government is not willing to treat them as criminals which they are, then it has to treat them as regular citizens which they aren't.
At the least they should have permission to get drivers license, insurance and a way to earn a living so they don't have to steal or sell drugs. And their kids need school, but no government benefits.
But gov. says: "Do our dirty jobs and get out" till tomorrow!
I completely understand why I'm paying 4 dollars a gallon. You're already paying 5?
I agree with him on illegal immigration and on our empire. His reasons for stopping illegal imigration are a little racist. I think you and I agree on most things, I just misread your initial post.
Diesel is already $5 in California and other states are getting there. By the time Bush leaves office the oil will be around $165/barrel and regular unleaded gas at $5 nationally. That's assuming he doesn't drop any bombs over Iran!if he does the price of gas wouldn't matter as much anymore.
What empire?The Persian Empire? :)
Empire:"a major political unit having a territory of great extent or a number of territories or peoples under a single sovereign authority"
Ah...the peoples republic of california. Modern empires aren't run like the Roman Empire. You don't think all of our puppet governments count? You don't think the billions of dollars we send overseas count? You don't think the fact that we have military obligations for about half of the world counts? We're five percent of the world and yet we're responsible for the defense of Europe, much of South America, South Korea, I can go on and on. You really think these countries can do whatever?
I like Pat,but he is dead wrong on Hitler.Mein Kampf was written in 1925/26,Hitler laid it all out in Those Two Volumes that culminated in the finished article "Mein Kampf","Lebensraum "grabbed from the Slavs,His Plans for the destruction of European Jewry,Hitler also stated that the only Reason for standing armies is for the Ruthless exertion in War,He Was Rearming at a Mega Rate,Why?For Peace?,No Way Pat.

Can we agree that Pat is right about WW2?

With Puerto Rico US has 2.
