  • Thanks for showing that it's okay to scroll without the hold down. The one I received with my Skil scroll saw keeps falling down at an angle while I'm working, no matter how tightly I adjust it. It has been nothing but a headache! Great videos, I'm very excited to have found your channel.

  • It wasn't long ago that Craftsman was an excellent brand name in tools. Those were also the days when Craftsman tools were made in America. Today, the majority of Craftsman tools are made in China and the quality is every bit the crap we expect from tools "Made in China".

  • @bkedp Same here in the UK. We're swamped by tat made in China. I wish shops would give us more choice. I'd rather pay more for a quality tool rather than spend money on Chinese junk. I despise the words 'MADE IN CHINA'.

  • cooooooooooooooool

  • Was wondering what is causing the knocking noise in the video. I have a scroll saw exactly like this one and it is doing the same thing. Only a couple months old.

  • help.

how can i straiten the upper and lower arms on that craftsmen scroll saw...i have the same saw. on my saw the blade makes an figure eight...so the cut is three times wider than the blade...its a bummer.

  • Thanks Very Helpful

  • Spyderco dodo?

  • hey steve ; just watching your videos has taught me alot of things I didn't know about scrolling.love your site!

  • @taskleast Me too!

  • are these hard to use

  • @FALLENFORFISH you need to hold the wood down and just stay in front and turn the wood, other than that, not really, you can only cut inside peices with the scroll saw but if you need to cut the outside, you use a sander

  • And now I'm gonna 'go ahead' and watch part 2!

  • Well, for newbies I reccomend Dremel Scroll Station or Scheppach Deco Flex :) Also Proxxon is quite good but that two I said are 1/2 cheaper, and works the same.

Really nice video. Best regards, Greg

  • On a side note, I ended up buying "big yellow" the Dewalt dw788 that steve highlighted on part 2 of this video set. I'm super happy with the purchase - even more so when I tried out a friend's budget scroll saw and noticed a huge difference.

  • Hey Steve I'm going to be buying a scroll saw soon. I was thinking about buying the Craftsman saw. I'm cutting 3/4" Poplar. I'm going to be cutting a lot of fishing lures with it. Will it cut fairly fast? I watched your scroll saw part 2 video. I watched you cut out the inside part of the "o" in Mom. With that saw and blade, it looked like it cut perty quick and easy also it made a real tight turn at the top and bottom of the "o" Will the craftsman saw work the same?

  • I'm starting to get into woodworking and creating miniatures and found that the scroll saw will be the perfect tool for my needs. Your videos are invaluable to any beginner. Thank you!

  • @Anwynne dont you mean valuable, instead of invaluable? invaluable means worthless and this video is good for beginners.

  • @misterniceguy1111 Invaluable means "extremely useful; indispensable" which this video is for a beginner. Perhaps you should try to look up the definitions first before you try to correct someone.

  • @misterniceguy1111 Invaluable does not mean worthless. Look it up.

  • @misterniceguy1111 Nope, that's not what it means.

  • @misterniceguy1111 and "priceless" means that it does not have a price, and that it is therefore worthless?
