  • ATV starters wind counter-clockwise.

  • its toooo expensive ..its ideal for someone who has a lawnmower shop

    ...

  • nice, but use it on a surface you dont want scratched the hell up

  • $56.90 is too much for a tool I would only use once a year.

  • I just got one of these and it does exactly as advertised (and saved the day in terms of a Weed Eater recoil spring that defied any other method I tried to get it compressed). Great tool!

  • i borrowed one from my friend and it works great and only took 5 seconds. i wish i would have known it existed before i spent hours tying to wind it myself

  • ok, i really need to do this but cant afford that :[ anyone else know how to do this without the tool, i's sorry i really would but it hah.

  • Ordered and easy coil and it works very well in the clockwise direction. When attempting to use it on the counterclockwise direction, the handle at the top unthreads itself as soon as there is any tension on the center shaft. The included directions don't account for this. Can you help? Great tool, good quality, just need that one little bit of info. Thx

  • I have never heard of a counter clockwise recoil spring so I am not surprised this happened.

I would try to tighten the handle to the point that is does not easily unscrew or apply thread locker or will a hex nut fit between the handle and the post to lock the handle to the post?

Or call the supplier and ask them.

  • @tokosj use threadlock or superglue

  • Would that tool work for the typical Briggs And Stratton engine?

  • As far as I know, it will but ask Durafix to make sure.

  • no fair.. i have cuts on my hands. and i still havent put it in

  • Yes, I think you can. You might have to pay some extra shipping. Call 800-547-9353 and ask Randy

  • will it work on a smaller pull start??

  • I think so. Call 800-547-9353 and ask Randy.
