  • I hope some day she knows how much she's impacted my life as a woman, and as a writer. At the age of 12 in a dim library in Washington Heights, I stumbled across her book, " How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accent" and serendipitously found myself. Thank you Julia, from a fellow Dominicana who hopes to one day leave foot prints in the sand too : )
