  • @CarnivacGames ..... For its time it had the best possible graphics some better than others but there were some artists out there that did push the graphics to the limit like the games developed by Cinemaware etc, we are not talking digitized here .... Now I don't believe you loved the Amiga if you go on saying don't go nuts and shit, Amiga was awesome to me the best machine around, so I will go nuts because Amiga fuckin rocks... Don't like it as much as me well go fuck off with your Atari then.

  • check my game play through :D with talking

  • The game actually has an anti-war message. It makes fun of war trying to show how much of a senseless killing war is.

The music in Cannon Fodder 2, though not as cool as in this game, had lyrics even more strong than in this one

  • I dont think you should take "brother" all too literal, as we all come from a group of apes who crawled out of Africa (or Adam and Eve if you prefer), we are all "brothers" in some sense, and I guess that's what Sensible Software is referring to. When we kill someone (no matter who it is), we are killing a "brother".

  • i love (like all) this game from A500, but after i saw lyrics i was schocked o.0

    ,,Go to you brother

    kill him with your gun

leave him lying in his uniform

    dying in the sun

    War

    Never been so much fun''

  • @SMoK177

well those lyrics have some sence

like when your teammate loses his legs on battlefield coz of mine or grenade so you decide to shoot him ^

  • Awesome game

  • The outro is better :)

  • And it's amazing how they made a song on floppy disk like this digital music... lol

  • i love how games were made back then. you can feel heart, passion and fun put into creation of these diamonds.

and to think of that it was just few people with ideas and will to realize them. that was art...

nowadays thousands of people can work on a single title, but with this large scale production, industry, enormous money, it has lost its spirit.

  • @lordpeter Well, i usually think newer games aren't that bad, cause of less problems in their gameplay and design, but you're totally right with your point: in old ones you can feel the passion... too sad.

  • @kamkQL Sure, i didn't mean to disrespect all newer games. There are many great titles, and people who are still passionate about creating good games. It's just different atmosphere from those early 90s. You can feel that back then, coding games wasn't touched so much by money, deadlines, industrial machinery. Awesome projects, with really enjoyable gameplay could be created by small group of friends. That was impressive. Many todays games stripped of fancy graphics, often offer very little...

  • @lordpeter Well, i can just agree with this point. Good old times :>

  • @lordpeter Sorry but I have to disagree in part, today's gaming industry is being led by a bunch of indie developers who have brought new and fresh ideas to the game development. That's something always good :)

  • @lordpeter ... I agree with you 100%... Every game had the best possible graphics and beyond its time music etc... Anyone who created games for the Amiga really put the heart into their games and you can tell when you play or listen to it you and you feel it yourself that you know they put their life into these games. They didn't have deadlines like today and the artist and musicians just did their own stuff without the man in the chair sayin I want this and that, it was much better back then

  • @ZroDfects 3000 games? try doubling that. at least.

  • @silsae .... uhmm that is why I said "over" 3000

  • @ZroDfects well technically you could say the Amiga has over 1 game and still be right.... just thought your number was a little low to do such a great gaming era justice!

  • @silsae .... Now over 1 game is kinda stupid don't ya think. I will stick with my "Over" 3000 since there is apprx around 3500, you may find that there are over 5,000 games but don't forget there are games that are the same all over the world but have a different title name between the UK and Europe etc. If you want to stick to your "doubling that" then you can add up all your public domain games which would add up to well into the 7000+ mark.. As I have most Amiga roms, 3000-3500 is spot on.

  • although I was an atari man myself :D

  • @silsae ....I have all 1,530 roms for GBA , yet a few hundred of them people won't know since I have all the Japanese releases also. There is a list of close to 2,500 but they are the same game but different title for certain countries. I have been there and searched all over the net to find out what system has what games and which one has another name for. I have all Mame games, Snes, Megadrive, N64 etc... If your into these let me know I would be glad to send you any game you wish...

  • @lordpeter ......Amiga was a better era too, there was none of this PS3 or XBOX360 is better rubbish. Amiga had over 3,000 games too and that is not even counting shareware and Public Domain stuff......

Amiga was the best computer around and it is sad to see it go.... Amiga was very poorly managed and that is why it went under, I wish a team that had a better understanding and buy them out but it was too late..... Amiga wasn't updated or replaced it just wasn't managed as it should be

  • @lordpeter

    True

  • @lordpeter: Sorry, but when I think of games produced by Ocean Software or US Gold the last thing I can think of is heart, fun and passion.Don't get me wrong,I love the Amiga and I have very fond memories of that time, but just like every gaming platform it had great games, honest stuff and irredeemable pieces of junk.

  • Fantastico

  • Such an awesome game, was playing it yesterday on WinUAE

  • Sensible Software made the best games. I do miss the Amiga days.

Yes, Cannon Fodder 3D looked great, there is a video out there somewhere. I hope it someday sees the light of day.

  • This game was the dogs danglies! God bless sensible software.

  • quality! i had this for the acorn archimedes A5000! still have original box and floppies!

  • I miss my Amiga 500...

I wish I could be in the early 90s again...

    *cry*

  • @dragonforces get WinUAE + the game... still the same fun - and that's the weird part.

  • @kamkQL It might be the same fun,, but it's not the same "feeling".

I might go and pick up an Amiga from eBay some day.

  • @dragonforces well, try WinUAE.

  • @kamkQL its AWESOME!!

  • command and conquer was way more ground breaking but this game is still pwnage

  • without this there would have been no C&C. So hard to say which was more groundbreaking.

  • Awesome game! I didn't like the sequel as much, but it was okay for some levels (not the space stuff). But this game ruled from start to finish! I remember how I tried to keep my guys from the first few levels alive as long as possible, and I got mad when one of my heroes died. Do you have more music from the game? The graveyard music was awesome.

  • you know it dude, i wonder how many people tried to do that back in the day! Good Times!!!

  • best game ever /cry

  • cute soundtrack, fun (and sometimes hard as hell! hate those damn rocketlaunchers) gameplay!

  • B*E*S*T* E*V*E*R

  • I had this for the Amiga. A truly excellent game, and this song is a cult classic if ever there was one!

WAR!! ITS NEVER BEEN SO MUCH FUN!! =D

  • To every fan of Cannon Fodder and/or the music: you HAVE to check pressplayontapeDOTcom and look for the live interpretation of this cool song (video section). You won't regret it, trust me.

  • Great tune and vid, the amiga had some of the best music around. alot of the tracks from the bitmap brothers games are especially good. If anyone knows any sites you can download these from let me know please. I am a massive fan of early game music.

  • what is the song in the intro?

(i would really like to get it for my mp3 player)

  • the song was made only for this game. It is in .MOD format (old Amiga ProTracker module). however it is possible to find it on the net, searching for amiga music ... yet You'll still have to convert it to mp3 (i recommend DeliPlayer to do that)

  • Use Miro to download this video, then convert the audio to MP3 with VLC.

  • Quite simply pure awesomeness. Such an ironic reggea-ish tune.

  • Yeah youre right the PC version never had the vocals I have a feeling it didn't even have the 3d cartoon video sequences aswell.

  • Seriously, was the A500 capable of this HQ audio output ? I had an A500plus but not this game. Love the tune tho ^^

  • Ofcourse it was silly, check out Xenon II Megablast of a whole host of demos for some excellent Amiga music.

  • stricktly speaking no. But it is the talent of the programmers that triumphed really! This sound file you actually hear consists of small digitized samples, put there bit by bit. Brilliant! Wish I could be part of this...:( Those were the times...

  • One of my fav Amiga games. I played it quite often and it was so entertaining and funny. Thank you for posting

  • cannon rulz!!!! (on amiga, of course:)

  • bütün eksisozluktekilerin anasını sikiyim!

  • Oh man, the memories. I tear up even thinking about this, it's just so nostalgic.

Did PC version have the vocals? I remember playing a legitimate copy on PC back in the day and was disappointed there was no singing in the intro video. Or do I just remember incorrectly?

  • Yeah, just boring MIDI over on the PC.

    I need an Amiga :(

  • Same here! =D

  • loved that game...

  • An absolutely amazing game, I started playing it again today on WinUAE. I was probably too young to appreciate it when it was out but I used to love sitting round with my older brother and dad when they played it lol. Yeah I was force fed gaming lol. I love the theme tune, I use to sing it all the time when I was younger like 5 or 6 lol. Please leave this up!

  • Great game, maybe a bit hard but class!

    And the intro is classic.

  • I did, and I really was. Very impressive machine, this Commodore computer.

*Sets the Amiga on his imaginary list of game machines to buy, right after a 3DO.

  • The Amiga had such a good sound chip to play this music? Impressive. (Though the intro itself is somewhat funny. >_>;)

  • Aside from the technical facts, there were many great composers on the Amiga, Chris Hülsbeck did marvellous things and some of todays topproducers have started with protracker. :)

  • bütün eksisozluktekilerin anasını sikiyim!
