Then he started the 8th wonder of the world in the Great Man Made River and brought fresh drinking water to every Libyan Citizen.With that came full electricity.
Did I mention that under the Flag of King Idris,Libyans were some of the poorest people on earth,but they now have the highest standard of living in all of Africa.

@kdogg1000 I'm Libyan and I think I might now a little more about Gaddafi than you do. He's the essence of what a dictator is, he has essentially destroyed the quality of education in Libya, which under King Idris was a lot better and actually had some merit. He's killed thousands and under his leadership tortured even more for simply disagreeing with his ways and calling for a better Libyan government or even just going to the mosque to pray.

@Ne0mega GDP is only high because of the oil industry and it's not like the companies that allowed that growth to happen are Libyan any way, there was a decent amount of foreign investment. The average life span of the entire PLANET increased over the past 40 years so of course Libya's has gone up. Under Idris the unemployment wasn't as bad as it has been under Gaddafi, 30%+ is RIDICULOUS!!!!! ...you sir have been PWN3D

What kind of ruler kills and tortures people for basically giving him advice on how to do his job better because under Qaddafi's rule Libya went backwards instead of progressing. Sure he's done some good, anyone can do that as a leader for 40 years

Your arguments are falacious and not proving anything. I am indeed suggesting that Libya was better off with Idris as the leader because then the freedom that was allowed was much better. Furthermore these stats that you present are skewed because under Qaddafi english was removed from the education system, and cheating was rampant.
