If you lost you contacts icon, voice-memo icon or anyother icons after upgrading to IOS 5... then you should follow this method:

1) Connect your iPhone to iTunes & then sync them.

2) Now in iTunes, on left hand column, Right click on your device & then click "Restore from Backup".. & let your mobile restore... & try to sync again..

3) hopefully after that there will be a utility folder fond in your iPhone... & all your missing icons will be there... hope it will work for u!

On the iPhone 4 iso 5 my video app did not show up as an icon on the phone or computer unless I did a search.

Go to settings click restrictions enable, don't allow apps, then back out and it showed up on page 2. Go beck into settings, restrictions, allow apps, then disable restrictions. No restart required.

Down side is that your apps are totally rearranged.

Up side is missing standard apps are back!!

Hey, thanks for your help, but i have a different problem... i uninstalled categories but forgot to remove the actual folders that i created with the app. (i did remove all of the apps from these folders though). So now i have these folders which are empty on my iphone which i can't remove because for some reason my iphone won't reinstall categories... any help is greatly appreciated.

For those who put settings in a categories folder and it's missing, just install categories again, make a new folder, and put settings in it. Restart springboard and the folder should be there. Open it and there you go. If it's not jailbroken (your phone or iPod) then you must wait and jailbreak it.
