Sadly, Sarah Dunn doesn't appear to have acted in anything else! At least as far as I can find out on the net. A pity, really, I thought she was good in this. I wonder were she is today? Maybe she'll do a DVD commentary? I would like to hear her memories of the series.

Fantastic! What a great story! So unexpected that the aliens don't want the probe back or the kids to restore it. I guess it's a teacher and its job is done, humans now have to develop themselves and go to the stars. Neat story, very thought-provoking!

Thanks for uploading this! It would be great if it ever came out on DVD. It took me straight back to 1984 when I was 8 years of age. I still think that it it a classic and really enjoyable as a 32 year old Adult. This programme was on straight after "The new adventures of Sherlock holmes" from what I remember.

Hopefully it can be cut to DVD like "Under the mountain" is.

It was release in Poland about 1987, I had then 4 year's. I was so young but from that time a still remember some scenes! Expecialy that rusty flower with red light on the top of the roof. Lol. We call it "mosiezna stokrotka":)

the complex issue is simply that they don't know where the child actors are now and therefore cant get dvd release rights off them.

Thanks. It was filmed out near Waiuku. Apparently it won't ever be released due to "complex copyright issues".

Very sad, it'd still do well if they re-ran it on TV.

Used to scare the crap out of me when I was 8 though.

Thanks very much, a great story. I was inspired by these kind of children's programs, Chocky, Mysterious Cities of Gold, and Children of the Dogstar, over 20 years has passed and they still have the same effect on me.

I saw this on ITV over 20 years ago. I was 10 years old and also remember the book was pretty good too.

Why has it taken so long for this to reach us? Why not out on DVD? This was a brilliant story.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! That was amazing seeing that again. The series which was made in New Zealand (where I am from) was broadcast in 1984 - and scared the living daylights out of me. So amazing to see it again. Thanks for the memories. I hope someone remakes this series.
