  • A recent song by Gotye uses the same beat as this song. The yt Gotye song has over 97 million views: watch?v=8UVNT4wvIGY

  • @saturntown

it was a pretty good song, but It didn't really sound like it used the same drum beat.

  • I think psychadelic in this sense is just an amazing array of blues/jazz/indian influence.

  • would love to hear silver apples play this with grace slick singing

  • thanks herb greene for the neato photos.....silent member of the great society!!! thanks for bein at woodstock 94 too!!

  • Musa ibn Musa, Mosè/musa Abdelkadir & quraysh...

    Izul luzi

"omo" Odilo se omo ebbe Amor a Roma o ebbe omo e solidO-perchè- I topi non avevano nipoti

Dai Kalan-chi, dove stà l'anello del re Ictus

  • Opps. San Francisco, California sound, and the band name is a comment on President Johnson's Great Society.

  • California non-beach Sound. Excellent music !

  • the organ part sort of reminds me of iron butterfly, more than it does of the doors...

  • Gracie def added a little something more to the song with her haunting vocals on this. on the other hand kudos to Zelma Sanders for writing a great song

  • Original is better.

  • @Khultan

    I disagree

  • @marrrrrrks Freedom of opinion, I love it.

  • @Khultan me too.

  • @marrrrrrks ....It's all too beautiful....

  • My personal humble opinion.......Signe wasn't 'better' than Grace but I will grant Signe that Marty couldn't outsing her. I like Grace much better. I only like Marty with Grace if they are in a studio so he can be balanced with Grace otherwise he just gets rediculous with his vocalizing. Grace is the only one I want to hear weaving notes around. Can't have 2 people doing that and pull it off tastefully. I am a die hard Grace Slick fan for 43 yrs now..

  • I agree when the Organ Kicks in, it reminded me of Syd Barret's Pink Floyd. Also per Wikipedia, this is supposedly one of the first songs (from 1963) that is about a Lesbian Love Affair gone bad, that reached airplay. For the 1960's this was way ahead of it's time, given the subject matter!

  • Grace unique ,bordering on icey phrasing lent the Airplane a 'gravitas"quality that the Dead couldn't embrace .Signe was in her way -but less so .Plus ,Grace was the better suited to challenge convention - embracing the Women's as well as the larger Civil Rights Movements.

  • That's supposedly Gracie on the farfisa...or so says the liner notes. D7 scale

  • This song really like it me... it's great

  • when the organ kicks in around 2:30, it sounds like Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd, especially the use of eastern sounding scales.

  • @marcfedak

oh yeah it does, I didn't even notice before

  • mmmmmm fierce

  • really? I think signe anderson sounded better (shes the first singer of Jefferson airplane if you didn't know)

  • @marrrrrrks Defffffffinetely, Signe was the real thing... Grace is out of this planet too,I thing Signe is the only one i consider better than Grace... maybe Spanky McFarlane but I wouldn't be so sure...
