  • Typical armchair philosopher. Bolivias government has assaulted the tribes of Beni and Pando, giving them free food, clothes, cattle, pigs etc. They have destroyed them, making them incapable of taking care of them selves. They don't know how to plant crops, dig an outhouse. The pigs and cows have brought flies, and disease, they eat everything. A Christian mission is teaching these people how to grow food sustainably, how to dig a latrine, wash their hands, fence in the animals. how to be human

  • I challenge the statement that every tribe is destroyed, but no one denies cultural violence has been done in the name of Christianity and other religions. Native American Richard Twiss said in a Perspectives on the World Christian Movement class: We are all ethno-centric, narrow minded, with limited vision. Perhaps if Christians stayed home and did nothing, some of the unfortunate things mentioned wouldnt happenbut neither would the good things. NancyS@WGM

  • Every tribe that has been assaulted with Christianity has been destroyed.

Their families broken, their language outlawed, American dress codes imposed,

guilt and shame imposed, their children sexually abused,

their men stripped of dignity and authority,

their cultural heirlooms stolen or destroyed as "idols",

their health destroyed by sugar and alcohol and western diet...

For the sake of humanity, leave them alone!
