Neo Geo's fighting games have always topped many capcom games especially in realistic effects, sound, depth, etc. in my opinion, not to take anything away from capcom games.

*sigh* I think Samurai Showdown, Last Blade and Guilty Gear are the series that show how great 2D fighting can be.

Street Fighter 2 and Alpha are good as well, but they lack what I love about the other games: weapons!

I agree... the heavy hits really made the game more realistic.... this is just a really watered down replica of various games on the market. Stay original.

They REALLY nerfed down the damage in this one. The first match would've been over by 0:30 if it kept to the Samurai Showdown 2 or 3 damage style...

I wish they'd go back to the 'heavy hits' of the older games instead of this Marvel vs. Capcom 10,000x combo crap...

It is true that they reduced damage, but it is not true that with high damage, the match will be short. At high-level play, Samsho's essence is defensive, unlike kof. It is in fact very common to see time-overs in all SS titles.

@EchoEnder Why not increase the damage in the options then? I know it's not the way the creators intended the game to be played, but the option is there for people that want it.

Cool all the Samurai Showdowns are coming to PS2 this year, cant wait, those were my fave games, I liked them even better than Street Fighter, but I like them all too hehe. 2D games are still da bomb although I also like the Soul Caliber games too.

In the upcoming release of Samurai Shodown Anthology, the fighters' voices (for SS Tenka or VI) been redone by the original actors.

Me and my brother in law used to make fun of Charlottes Ascending slash thing cuz it sounded like she was saying "agara me el bicho" Which translates to puerto rican slang as "Grab my dick" but that was in the first samurai showdown, now you can actually hear the correct pronunciation

It'll be in the upcoming Samurai Shodown Anthology (which will also cover 1-V Special). It's being release on PS2, PSP , & Wii later this year.

well, it´s not really a new part. it´s more a best of version which got all characters from all the samurai shodowns.

and yes it´s really good with nice graphics but no fatalities. i still prefer the old one on neo geo

Charlotte is my favorite fencing character from the samurai showdown series ,next to Raphael Sorel from the Soulcalibur series. I ways played as her, to bad she was not present in the other games till way later on, which got me started again when she returned in the series. In the right hands Charlotte can be a deadly fencer in this game, and could possibly be one of the best characters.
