I got my HHX super cymbal pack which includes 14" x-celerator hats, 14, 16, 18" studio crashes, 20" stage ride, and 10" Splash. I got it all for 800 bucks and it sounds so freaking amazing!!!!!

@ultimatemangafan depends. If you like bright and cutting, AAX, but if you like dark and warm, HHX. AA is for like vintage stuff.

one thing i really doesent like with sabian is that they aint got very dark hats, or crashes. the brand and model that fits into dark, heavy music is meinl byzance dark hats, meinl mb20 heavy crashes and the mb20s and the byzances chinas... but the hh raw heavy bell 22" ride from sabian is a monster...

To me its all about the individual cymbal. I've heard "dark" AAXs and "bright" HHXs. I use a mix of HH, HHX, AA, and AAX. They all sound great, you just have to listen for tones that work together. If a pair of crashes doesn't work together you'll know. Ask yourself two simple questions: Does this sound good? (did you cringe when you hit it or was it music to your ears?) and Is this my sound? (I'm playing jazz....do i need that new APX ride? probably not.) Common sense. Make Music.

hhx is the best cymbal on the market. theyre kind of expensive but the price is nothing compared to zildjians $500 Constantinople Hi hats. Which are the only hand hammered zildjians btw
