To anyone who is saying that Jack's are a pain and that they chew through walls and stuff...you are obviously just being a bad and neglegent owner. I have had my jjack for 5 years and have had NO issues....they are hyper and happy dogs but very very smart

@Vienna6969 i agree completely! jacks are given such a bad name for no reason other than a lazy owner. my family adopted a 5 year old jack from a pound. we were given no history on him and the shelter knew nothing about him, he had been there for 6 months and the day we went to go get him was the day he was due to be put to sleep. since then we've had him for 2 years with no issues. he has tons of energy but as long as we exercise him tons each day he is happy and has never destroyed a thing!

I have two right now Zak and Abby, (son and mother, she is fixed so no worries) She is unbelieveably smart i mean she scares me sometimes how smart she is. And she has like a 5ft vertical leap so i cant keep anything from her. Her favorite thing to do is hunt frogs... She plays and toys with them, then pounces.

Yeah, Jack Russells can be a handful - if you are thinking of one, do your RESEARCH prior! It is irritating when people get the breed, then act suprised about how hyper they can be and later get rid of the dog because of it. They are ridicously smart 90% of the time, adventurous, but loyal and very unique dogs.

My JRT and I have been together for 11 years. I swear I'll get grey hairs early because of her lmao but I wouldn't change my little dog for the world.

ive had wire hair terriers, and jacks, and I must warn that terriers require more attention and training than kids. they can be lots of fun, but they can be extremely stupid as well. my sisters jack would run up the side of the pool and clamber in, then procede to drownd himself trying to bite the water he would splash up, so i made a doggie life vest because she couldn't afford to spend 2k in fencing to protect a mutant dog with a death wish.
