let's not kid ourselves. Nebraska was awarded the Coaches National Championship as a going away present for Tom Osborne in his last year. Michigan's stout defensive front in 97 would have been able to stack the box against Nebraska's run game, because our secondary was Boss as hell with Charles as an interception threat. So I don't know where Husker fan thinks they would have won a matchup with us, considering they would have been unable to pass on us. and your run game would have blown.

this is true. but a great defense trumps a great offense (just ask the 2002 Miami hurricanes or the 2007 New England Patriots), and the Michigan Wolverines defense in 1997 was from another planet. App State is pretty irrelevant as Michigan will play a completely different style with a different coaching staff. Not to mention many starters are gone from that team.
