@MsSkidboot:I'm sure if you really want to meet someone a Church or one of the web-dating sites could put you in contact with a nice man. My life was so wrapped up in my wife and kids for so long. It was a blessing from God to have her. I cannot see myself sharing what I had with her with some one else. It's lonely being alone but our love transends her death. She is gone but I would still feel like I would be cheating on my vow to her. Besides at 72...what could I offer a stranger??
@MadamSnowgal: Everyone's feelings differ. I met my lifes love when she was 13 & I was 16. 4 years later we were introduced again, dated, and married in 1960. She was a veteran's wife, stood by me as I served 2 tours in Vietnam, and had our 4 children. We were true to our vows for 51 years. She passed in September of 2011. To honor her, our children, and at age 72, I could never love another. My love for her will endure. My life will always be in her's. I'm happy you found another...I can not.
@MrDonRailey Wow.............what a tribute to your wife! Brought tears to my eyes. I've never had that kind of love, and still have hopes that someday I will. (even at 74 years of age!)
One of the most moving love songs sang by one of the most prolific sad song singers since the beginning of creation...thanks George Jones for performing this historic number one hit !!
This song is so true of my parents. When mother passed she was still in love with my daddy. Even after her passing, my father refused to date,3 yrs and 3 months later, he passed, still in love with his beloved wife.
George is 80 years old now and still on the road...His voice is flawed now and he moves slowly..But We all remember what he was like back in the day with him and Tammy...Check out "Milwaukee's best"by them in the early 60's...pretty good stuff from a couple of the best ever.
This song hits home my dad died from broken heart....He loved my mom, even after she remarried...
