i just made the welding team for my FFA chapter and that is what mentor told me was my issue, i usually just stopped after i pulled my electrode off of the base metal causing that pit you told us about, this has helped me substantially and now i understand what needs to be done to fix my problem.

ps having my mentor be a lower class-men is rather annoying also so i tend to ignore some of the things he says, i think i will apologize after Christmas break

that angle you holding the electrode is back too far and looks like you didnt start the arc properly as it looks like you have used GP rods then it should curl up and sometimes if you lucky then you can get it to snail, oh someone good at watching these videos is just too have a look at dumb arses. use 7016 low hydrogen rods they look nicer and stronger with less chance on slag getting into the weld but you have to cook them and use asap

holly fuck i'm sorry where did this guy learn how to weld??? u don't ever want to puddle at the end of the weld, all u got to do is make the arc gap closer at the end of the bead and pull the rod striaght back towards you. DON'T lift it off the metal you will have a big ass crater at the end of the bead and it looks likenshit
