  • @aokifan89 Barefoot is actually safer. Soles on shoes increase the chances of rolling your ankle and there by tearing the tendons and cartilage. Some gyms just don't allow it.

  • @KingAttle Olympic shoes are ideal because they allow your center of gravity to be further forward, hence your torso will be more upright. I don't know what you mean by "anything that keeps you flat".

    I squat with olympic shoes, and it keeps my feet flat. Also if you squat without shoes you're more vulnerable to injuries. For a successful full squat, use flat shoes. With a regular sneaker you tend to stand on your toes, because of your natural foot arch.
